Well this is an exploratory post, not having high expectations that grapevine would fix it for me. But to put it in short, I literally have no family, everyone i had now are gone. Friends, yes , quite a lot, but they have/will have a life beyond me. But none when it comes to family.

Here to just understand if someone is living all alone with no parents/siblings/wife/kids/partners and how is life ?

Mostly a rant but I guess also a cry for help that I have been subduing for a long time now.
I have never felt alone at times in my life as well as lost, but they have always been at 2 different times. Never together. Always it has been a purpose or the company I am in (not work, social circle) that kept driving me forward. At times both.
But now, its neither.
Ever since I was a kid, I had dreamt up a picture of my bachelor life.
A great social circle of close friends. A place to live in most comfortable way possible. Finances so stable that I don't have to think twice before getting something I wanted and felt needed. Working or doing something that kept me excited for it.
And here I am today, sitting and wondering, I have achieved just the 2nd part of it. Everything else is still a dream.
I lost the close knit friend circle and I think its a huge list of misunderstandings and small mistakes that caused it and I can't see a way back. Financially, I have no savings and I have spent money like there is no tomorrow for past 5 years. I have a job that doesn't drive me at all, while just 2 years back I was excited to face the new challenge I am gonna get the next day.
I have no idea what to do and where to go. 
I feel in my gut that this is going to be a similar phase in my life that I have faced before. This may go on for the next 1 to 2 years and then I would emerge out of it and value what I have more than ever.
But still this phase eats at the inside of me at times and I just feel empty.

I know it's not a good platform to share a personal story but wanted to express myself. I am a software engineer with decent earnings working in Accenture and going to join Deloitte! My family environment is getting worse because of my father's drinking habit. We are not able have a normal topic with happy moment. Every-time I tried to have a discussion it gets into bad fight. I already had a pretty hard heart break and only option I have is family where I am not able to make things right. I am feeling as a failed as a child and not having any expectations from future. I am tired of toxic environment not sure till when I can handle this. I don't want to have any partner in my life as they will face things which I am facing. I suppose leaving life alone is good for me. Alone and happy.

I know sharing this will not change anything. Just wanted to tell everyone keep your family first priority. Without family high paying job will also not give any satisfaction.🙂

Don’t feel to get a married life, feeling like got stuck in life.

I feel my life is extremely difficult after demise of my beloved father at the age he should have  not left us this early he was 51 and now without him my life is just extremely difficult in all aspects  , people around me , relatives , career aspect marriage aspect future everything just scares me and  i feel i cannot reach out to anyone for my help not even my mother with my problems I feel if i reach out to anyone they just shut it like dont overthink , please stop with your negativity I just dont know how to get on with life He was like shield to us Now i dont know even me , my mom , my sibling has changed like anything Nothing feels good anymore

I have been a little caught up with numerous things in my life lately and have finally found some free time to open up myself to new experiences. 

I had a wishlist of shows and movies that I wanted to watch but as soon as I start watching them, I get bored and feel like turning it off. 

No, its not the content
No, its not the genre
No, its not the actors
No, its not the taste either

This is pretty ironic as considering the fact that I have spent a fair share of my youth chasing academics and career, my heart had always craved for life experiences. I had to let go of the woman I loved simply because I was too focussed on my JEE. I wont be able to forgive myself for that EVER. It almost felt like I had lost a limb, without which , I would be rendered disfunctional. Thats a separate story tho.

Nothing excites me (yep nothing)
Nothing amuses me 
Nothing feels lively

I have no clue where my life is headed

I understand that as we age, our triggers of happiness change. I have put concious efforts into knowing what those new triggers are. But I cant find any plausible sources of happiness.

I am performing pretty well with my career.
Even got a double digit hike.
But didnt feel that kick of joy.

Have I approached a dead end?

by Immigrating to a new country and starting a new life. Sick of this scarcity, struggle for every single fucking thing from getting a entry in local train, then slogging at work like donkey and then realising some MBA asshole will dictate your careers, then you think of becoming that asshole by getting masters but again fucking competition there, then wondering why the fuck am I paying taxes on your commute back to home in packed local train like a cockroaches, then struggle to get quality food, quality water and quality air, then again struggle to go to sleep and the Final struggle to wake up 
  
 But being the only child of my family and being their retirement fund is binding me here.  
  
 Sure other developed countries also have a competition but not to the extent of India.

One of the toughest day of my life started on 03rd September, 2024. I just did not want to leave my bed at all. The world that I imagined has just crumbled. The future that I envisioned no longer cease to exist. Sense of failure in all aspects of my life has hit me. A failure in professional life, a failure as a son, a failure as a brother, a failure as a friend, a failure as a partner. A complete failure in a nutshell. This is the lowest point in my life where I want to run away, from everything. Not care about anything, not face anyone, and just run away.

So when when did you last cried? Are you emotionally stable ? 

How do you control your emotions ? 

I am emotionally breakdown point where I am struggling to find a new job( I know people will say u have a job but I have multiple reasons ) ,been applying to jobs  with referrals and without too for SDE 1 role.

But I am not able receive a single call from companies for interview from past 2 months.
I am tired ,I  cried today to fix my mental health ,XD nothing happened.

I am 28 M.

I was born in a poor family and to make matters worse my father was diagnosed with a terminal illness when I was still in college.

As if watching my father dying was not enough I came to know that my mother was having an affair with my father's friend. I never caught them but I saw their whatsapp messages.

My father eventually succumbed to his illness leaving the family responsibilities on my shoulders.

I never got to enjoy college. My first paycheck was spent on the medical bills and subsequent paychecks were spent on clearing my brother's education loan, paying back relatives (we borrowed some money for my father's treatment) and just taking care of my family.

I want to get married but honestly I don't have any money for it now and I don't want to take a loan.

I never had any relationship. It could never become a priority.

And it's not about just sex. It's something deeper. Maybe intimacy, maybe human touch, maybe something else. I don't know.

I tried hard to focus on my work and hobbies but It merely proved to be a temporary escape.

I don't even know why I am narrating all this to a bunch of strangers but then again aren't we all in the same boat at the end?

How lonely is this journey going to be for first time founders? (with no one in family into business for the last 7 generations)

I'm a 28-year-old married (Wife is also working) individual currently residing in Kolkata, where the living expenses are relatively low. I have 5 years of work experience, and my current compensation package is 28 lakhs fixed and 3 lakhs variable (approximately 1.95 lakhs in-hand salary after deductions). With no liabilities or responsibilities, my monthly expenses are around 40,000 INR, and I manage to invest around 1.5 lakhs per month.

Currently, I enjoy a stable job and live with my parents, who take care of most of my living expenses. However, I'm considering the possibility of switching jobs and moving to another city, which would require me to bear the additional costs of rent, food, and other living expenses on my own.

Question: Given my current financial situation and the potential for increased living costs in a new city, should I explore a job switch and relocation? Or should I continue with my current stable job and living arrangement in Kolkata, where my expenses are minimal? What factors should I consider when making this decision?

Should I switch and move to bangalore

Nah stay there only. Why relocate to Bangalore If you are earning a decent amount and living with your family happily.

Harsh reality of life. It has to go on, with or without you.

I have been in this industry for 4 years now and there is not a single day that i hated this place any less. Today 9th August 2023 i am all alone in my room thinking to myself about what’s the point of this? 

I have no life i am all alone and tbh i have no real friends. A few of them that i do have are so far away from me busy in their life. No love life no social life. At 27 i feel wasted, done, finished let me clarify not in a suicidal way. I just feel exhausted my body is breaking down by the day i feel. I am just broken at this point and feel like quitting this profession altogether. I just don’t feel happy. The more i work the more irritated and frustrated i get.
To top all that i have no one to share my emotions with here. Call it whatever you may wanna call a cry for help, a rant or nonsense. I am at that point where every morning feels like punishment. Every night that i go to bed i try to stay positive but i am not able to. I just hate everything. 
I am not a lazy man i work for 10-12 hours everyday and i think now that has finally got to me as i feel finished.
I don’t know if anyone will read it or not i just wanted to reach out to people or anyone who feels like me. Broken tired and just done with everything.

After working remotely as an Intern, I cracked a SDE role and moved to this new city. I feel homesickness now. I feel like running away from every single thing here. Everything reminds me of my family. I don't have much work experience but I'm trying to continue to work here and looking to crack another role in SDE but remote. 

This way I can stay with my family as well.

I don't know, I feel lost. This city is costly and spending so much in the initial month just to settle down was overwhelming and traumatizing.
