How much do you think is enough? It's usually never enough for a lot of people and life is bound to throw a lot of curveballs along the way (for better or for worse), but what's the first figure that comes to your mind at which you feel "okay, if I work for X more years and amass this much money/net worth, I can comfortably hang up my boots and retire"? Additionally, how far along are you in achieving this goal? I've noticed that a common trend is that a lot of folks, for all their future planning, still don't have enough (or as much as they would like) long-term clarity about what they're working towards and how much more and was hoping this sort of discourse could help bring better awareness. P.S. - I fall in that category as well, fortunately or unfortunately.

I am a 26/M/60+LPA/IITian Software Engineer at a FAANG. I have spent most of my time travelling places with my friends/solo and have dedicated a significant portion of my small life to my career, and I am quite happy with it. I am confused about one thing tho, should I get married? given I am happy living like this, I just want to hear what men have to say on this, I want to know given a chance would you guys get married? If yes how to check if a woman is a fine fit for you? I made a rule to only date a woman who makes at least 70% of my salary OR has an excellent academic background AND should be humble. With these set of rules the chances of finding a girl is almost slim to none given ratio at good colleges and at high paying tech jobs are like that 🤧, I am sure people won't find these rules good, but I want to know if I am being stupid pls correct me it will help me reshape my thinking. Help me guys 🫡.

Guys, I recently switched to a startup that is operating fully remotely, where I am working as a software engineer. This is something that I consciously chose as I personally liked working from home. I have 2 years of experience in this field. In my earlier job, I was working from the office in mumbai, so I have lived in the suburbs of mumbai for around 1.5 years. I am turned 25 just a few months back. I come from a small town in Rajasthan. I do have a bsnl fibre connectivity at home, which gives good enough internet connectivity as well. Living in a small town and with parents is great. I save almost all of my salary. Now, here comes the confusion - being early in my career, i feel like I should live in the city, like bangalore, explore more things, but since I already lived in mumbai, to be very honest I didn't liked it to that extent as I am not the party guy, and too many people make it more worse, traffic I am not even considering. I am kind of very simple. Home to office and office to home, on weekends maybe go to temples and explore some places around. I also have food choices, which makes it more difficult to survive. Like I am pure vegetarian and don't even eat onion/garlic, nobody in the home actually eats it. No offence to anyone, but I feel extremely uncomfortable when i am asked to eat at restaurants where non-veg is surved during company offsites and all. Now, just for the context, it's not that I never lived away from family. Actually, I am staying away from my family from very early school days, like 8th/9th standard. And somehow, I managed it all during all those years. That is one of the reasons that makes me feel as if I should spend more time with my parents. What would be your advice for me so that I don't leave behind in my career and at the same time live a balanced and happy life. Also, considering my context, which city would you recommend me to relocate to? Or should I not even think about it?

29F, I still stay with my parents Working, earning >1lpm, remote work Over the years, I have realised I own no assets. Everything has been bought by parents EVERYTHING My mom would always make sure she or dad paid, saying you can keep your money for yourself (which I initially thought was very sweet) Now I see how I am dependent on them for all What ever I have bought can be put into a polythene bag and that's all my life (I generally spend on food and stuff that goes away) I have bought certain items for family or the house, but that isn't mine obviously I need to get out of the house, my mental health is at the edge

I have been on a permanent wfh role since covid. Yes, been 2+ years since I stepped into an office. I stay alone and have little expenses but also 0 social life. Friends are all spread out. Not on any dating app because its exhausting. Can someone just talk about any impacts on their personal life from work life? Does anyone here feel a void too? I’d love to connect.

I dont care about money above a certain amount, i dont care about power. I just want my newfound family and my stability. To live a happy life surrounded by my loved ones. I feel as if its not a bad dream to have.

I am 26 now. And started my career in 2018 when i was 21, and from my first day till now I am doing a wfh. Initially it felt good as you get lots of personal time, no travel time and expenses. And then in covid while people where panicking switching to wfh, I was already adapt to it very well. But lately I have now started seeing some negative impacts of it. 1- Social life is at stake as I went to study outside my home town and almost lost all my connections here. 2- No personal interaction with people on higher position than you as that helps a lot in ones upbringing. 3- Following same life style for years and years. 4- Poor physical health and mental health being in a room for 8 hours of work, 8 hours of sleep and 2-4 hours more depending on other tasks. Adding to it now i feel it makes more sense having a office job which makes you feel more lively and a part of society.
