Hi folks, I have been working as a Data engineer for 1 year and 3 months and looking for new opportunity since last 2 months still have not scheduled a single interview or call back , for most of the opportunities they are either asking for 3+ years of experience . Just curious if the market is ever going to be easy on people like me or is there any specific time of the year when the recruiting starts for people at the very early stage of their career.

We faced a really slow moving job market in Indian IT last financial year. I heard this year it will open some opportunities. It is almost the end of April and I am not getting any calls from the recruiters. FYI, I am a Java backend tech lead, Open for architect position as well. Having 9+ experience entirely in the same technology and in the digital banking domain. 

I am worried, will the market ever be back to normal like it was pre-covid? Even during lockdown, there was a lot of hiring.  
What's wrong now? 
Wars one after another, making uncertainty.
I personally feel, during the WFH period they hired people from different cities and made them work together, which worked fine for WFH. Now they're forcing us to work with a team which is not in your office, not even in your city. Now, they don't need to hire people from the same city/location which makes their job easier. They just pick someone from the pool, internal  recruitment etc. 
People are fearing job security so a very few are putting papers, resulting in no vacancies. 

The market is completely biased towards employers and we can't do anything about it.
When will this end?

You all might obviously guess that I'm speaking about the other two posts in which each of them in their early 20s making 50+ LPA and 70+ LPA respectively.

Honestly curious, how do these guys get paid so much? I feel like salaries in IT industry are heavily inflated.

I'm from EEE background, trying so hard to find a job in Data field. I've previously worked in my field for 3 years, but the growth seemed pretty less in the long run, hence the switch.

Finding a job as a fresher (in IT industry) is so hard man. I'm mainly looking for the startups. 

They either ask for experience, or the pay is very similar to what I made previously in my field. (which is <10 LPA). 

Above all, I'm not even getting responses from companies for my applications. 

So yeah, how do people in their 20s make so much in the IT industry? Is it only FAANGand big corps or applicable to startups as well (like unicorns etc)???

Hey everyone, I am a Junior FE Dev (from my prev work title coz my exp is 1YoE). Have been working extensively on React.JS and Redux. My previous company was great. I was loving it. Sadly a few months ago, I was laid off. I still don't know the reason behind why I was one of the laid off people. Anyway, I moved on from that depression and started searching for a new job from last month. Made it to final rounds in pretty much every interview I sat for. But then got rejected in final round for crazy reasons including "we currently don't have funds to hire you". One of them even said they are on hiring freeze, literally in the final round 🥲. 

Haven't been able to get a job anywhere. I don't know if my skills aren't enough to be hired or is it something else. "What's hot in FE right now ? Like what skills can fetch me a job ?" - Started asking this myself as well as some of my good friends, but they say don't learn skills for getting job, learn it for yourself. Though it's true, I don't have much savings to support myself for atleast a month. So, I have to get into a job to keep myself from going bonkers under the financial crunch that I can clearly see ahead of myself if I stay unemployed in the next 20 days.

Yes, the tech market is in its winter season. I understand that, but I still see there are so many openings in the market for ppl with 1YoE like me and skillset that matches mine, yet I never hear back from them or just get rejected in final rounds 😕.

I'm absolutely clueless on what to do right now. Any suggestions would be really helpful.

Senior Manager

Work culture has become ultra toxic. Managers have started nano managing and literally are a pain in the ass. Product giving unrealistic timelines and leadership agreeing on the same without even consulting the developers and even if the developers are raising concerns, no fucks are given infact they are made to realise that this is how a startup should work. Literally everyone is working their asses off and still unable to meet the deadlines. Empathy is completely lost and WLB is a sham. People including me want to switch but are not even getting time to prepare.

This is all trickling down from the Leadership, they are trying to cut down costs by any means. Already had one round of layoffs, now they are doing silent layoffs in the form of PIPs. 
  
 Also, Leaders have lost the long term focus and are trying to find out more and more short term projects related to profitability.  
  
 There was always this pressure of work, but in the past 7-8 months this has become unbearable with no empathy in the organisation.
