As the question states, would you stay in the company for few more months, where you hate your managers and/or teammates and aren't enjoying working, just to get more stocks (ESOPs, RSUs etc)? Would you be doing the same if the market wasn't bad?

Hi All, I received an offer from a top-tier company similar to FAANG and accepted it. However, the working hours there are quite demanding, requiring a minimum of 10 hours per day. At my previous job, I had excellent work-life balance, with work hours aligned with Japan's schedule, allowing me to finish by 3 PM. Now, I'm working in US hours, which is encroaching on my personal time and impacting my mental well-being. Should I reconsider returning to my previous employer? Money isn't a significant factor (I received a 100% salary increase). The atmosphere at my former job was also much more relaxed.

Is FIRE the latest obsession because people have no other passion in life? Is it because they have aced school, college, High package(due to recent surge in salaries) and now don't know what is the next mission in life? One argument is that they want freedom to do great things, but as I see the drive to do great things comes when people are put in constraints and difficulties. Not when they have freedom..

I got 100% hike. I joined an abroad company. Now my salary is 30 LPA. Any serious answers what should I do? I don’t want to be reckless with so much money.

How do you guys dissociate from office shit once you log out and not let your job be your personality. I am glad I joined grapevine so I can write about all the shit that goes on and try and have an actual life outside office. In the name of hustle we have actually reduced the importance of living life to the fullest.

Currently working as SDE-2 at Amazon, promoted some 1 year back. I'm totally burned out from work pressure, oncalls, layoff and performance review cycles every 3 months. Thinking of resigning without any offer by June/July. Will this be the right decision in today's market. I'll take some 2-3 months rest and start job hunting again, hopefully in better wlb companies. Just want to enjoy, travel to new places and prioritise my health. Balding and weight gain are major issues, and i don't think conditions will be improving in Amazon soon. BUT, the job market is tough, and IDK how it will impact my career Is this the right decision or I'm a fool Total experience: 3.5 Yrs Age : 27

Have little greater 2 Cr cash (MF, stocks, bank balance etc) that can be liquidated real quick. Few Cr in real estate assets. No debt. Dependents also earn by themselves. Monthly spend of 50k-60k, can optimise further if needed. Why I should not leave my stressful job, and take something which has more WLB or lower pay with less tension ? What all should I consider before taking this decision ?

I got my first salary after getting my cash CTC increased from 22 to 29LPA I thought I’d be happy but I just checked my bank account and closed it. Felt nothing. No differential feeling / experience for even a second YOE: 5 Earlier when my salary moved from 30k to 50k month I used to get the happiness hit for a week but now it’s “meh” even though the difference is much higher. Anyone else rocking the same boat?
