Office conflict

I have one question for everyone. How do you resolve your issues if you have issues with your manager or lead? Or How do you build a trust if the trust is broken because of some delayed work, wrong work, wrong design, or something you did wrong in the past and he/she still judges you based on that but you're now doing better?

Lately it's been really hard trying to cope up with derogatory comments and people trying to pull you down. I build/refactored some of our codebase and things go south in terms of performance at few places. I realised the mistake and fixed the performance bottlenecks that happened because of me in least time possible. But people still look down on me on and manager keeps passing hurtful comments about the incident every now and then. Moreover there's worse happening fellow people start blaming you for the performance of code you haven't even touched. You are just utilizing some function in your codebase written by some other person. I don't know how to handle all this and what should I do to avoid this? Mistakes happen, bugs go on prod, things can break but as far as once everything stabilise, we should move on.

I am fed up with people who try to steal other people’s credit. Be it your manager, your colleague or anyone how do you avoid them from taking your credit for the work you have done. Worst part is seeing them try hard to showcase it as their own. What do you all suggest for such situations?

I'm feeling really stuck and frustrated at work lately. Despite putting in my best efforts and consistently performing well, it seems like my manager is feeling threatened by my progress. He’s been rejecting my ideas and work without even reviewing them, and calling me out in meetings for not completing non-priority tasks. The environment has become really toxic and it's taking a toll on me. Has anyone experienced something similar? How did you handle it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My story - So I switched to a startup last year. I was initially super excited in solving problems. Asking questions and just being curious about everything in general. Then, some incidents of my manager's behavior and team folks has turned me into a person who is so fucking afraid of now asking questions, doing tasks. My stakeholder communication sometimes I miss on, some things that seem to be pretty obvious had I been my competent self of previous organization, I am missing out on. I don't communicate well simply because I don't want to face my current manager and team. There's huge disconnect as well. I am not at all excited to work everyday. My friend was miserable in my previous org but now after switch he's damn happy and doing good! I want to know if this is something that happens with you all? Or are you all like you fit in everywhere? Or is it just My problem and my incompetence? Because I am always reminiscing my past org and my performance there was exceptional!

Hey guys, I have this weird anxiety whenever I'm not able to understand the work that is given to me or If I get too complicated work. Basically i'm not stressed even if my workload is high, as long as I know exactly what to do And if I get very little workload but the work is very complicated, it stresses me out to the point where I don't feel hungry at all. If I'm confident, i'm very confident and when I get stressed out, even simple problems look very complicated and makes my life hell. Do any of you guys feel the same and if you do, how do you handle this weird nature

In my corporate experience, I have observed two kinds of leaders - 1) A hard task master, very high on IQ but more often than not low on EQ and 2) High on EQ, above avg on IQ. I as a manager/ leader fall under 2) and usually get work done without authority but I do experience at times, some peers and reportees taking advantage of my behaviour In my view, anecdotally I see type 1) leaders succeed more in corporates even if it comes at the cost of facing flak/hate from directs/indirects. One of my previous managers was unpopular for his toxicity but somehow I kind of built a decent bond with him. Once over drinks and dinner, he candidly told me, I'm not here in this organization for making friends and I'm here only to get results and he did deliver on results every year. My question is, can type 2 leaders even climb up the ladder specially where cut throat competition exists. Sometimes I do feel I need to be more like type 1 leaders obviously not at the cost of toxicity - disrespect, shouting etc. What are your thoughts?

I am new in a team and got a story assigned to me on Thursday afternoon. It was Friday morning and my manager was almost forcing me for 5-6 times to send the update on the story to client. As I work on VDI and it's too too slow, I was unable to go through the story properly, so forcibly, I had to send incorrect updates to client, to which they asked questions to my manager. And suddenly my manager's Second face revealed, and he asked me in the group "why did you send this incorrect update? You should have asked someone in team first. " (while he didn't give me some time to check with someone in team and forced me in the standup call to send updates at that time) and I was shocked, how this man turned his face within minutes!!!! When I justified my point, he started taunting me in the group chat, started argument and almost blamed me and shared the whole discussion to his manager and acted innocent. How these managers are so ruthless and double faced?? I am feared he would not approve my 1 week leave, I am planning to take during Dussehra or would give bad rating. Should I stay strong or apologize (even though I am not wrong )? Please suggest what should I do now???
