Do they wantedly design such shitty interfaces ? In enterprise tools, I find a lot of complexity unlike Consumer apps which mostly are a breeze to use !!!

Working on an app which is at a very early stage. 

Layman gist of the idea:
A step counter app which rewards users in a specific, useful and sensible way in return for the steps tracked and maybe couple other physical activities that the user undertakes. 

Current market:
I know there are couple apps already in India which do the same and few more available globally which do the same but obviously they are not too mainstream and not actually that beneficial to users to form a habit forming culture. Basically its just like those stupid cred coins concept where you earn but no way to spend!

My outlook:
I obviously have  broad horizon and want to create a useful and meaningful money making ecosystem through some strategies/ideas that I have and make it an actual money making app/company with a sensible rationale and economics behind it and not just some zabardasti ka startup just for the sake of "having khud ka startup." 

My aim:
To achieve great level of gamification in healthcare and create an ecosystem/network through this with lot of things to come in future.

Please share your views how stupid/irrelevant you think this (obviously citing the reasons).

(maybe a clickbait to few people) No I don't work at Amazon I am just 1st year student but I don't know is it me or anyone else also feels this that the UI/ux basically the whole fucking frontend of Amazon is so glitchy and filthy whenever I search something the loading line appears on top like 2000s it feels like using an app made by 3rd year student for project. The design is soo poor never feels like premium app always feels like an app made for illeterates.Now let me tell you what happened there is one offer on dmrc(delhi metro card) that if I pay with Amazon pay I will get cashback even though I never use Amazon pay(gpay rocks) I used it today and after paying their fucking site was loading for more than 2 mins and was showing don't press back button but I pressed back and it showed transaction pending not able to connect to our servers(fucking one of the biggest companies of the world) at same moment I tried recharging using gpay it just took seconds and people will say maybe some traffic issue or server down and all but I tried this in evening also on different card then also failed. Gpay>>phonepe>>Airtel money==Paytm>>>>>>>>>>>amazonpay.

Cred is overly done and confusing now.

What do designers think about Cred's design? 😅

I don't know if it's the company I'm working at, or the projects I'm working on or it's my ADHD but I feel I don't enjoy UI/UX. I feel I lack the trait where one gives tiny attention to details as I have 'chalega / chaltha hai' attitude. I also realized I hate sitting in front of the screen for long hours. I loved physical product design and had to switch to digital product design due to circumstances that were not in control.
I honestly don't understand computers much. I neither enjoy designing app interactions, think about the business aspect of the UI / UX, metrics etc. I sometimes feel like this field isn't for me and I don't know why.

I neither have the privilege's to switch to a new field. I am a slow learner and I admit that I don't have a sharp mind - thanks to ADD. I am 30 YO and I feel like a 22 year old college grad. 
I have responsibilities on my shoulders and I can't take a break, be on a sabbatical, or resign. I have 4 YOE on the paper but I feel like I just have 2 YOE.

All I can do now is to learn things I don't enjoy and love the work I do as I have to work and bring bread on the table. I have been telling I will switch since 2-3 years and I am yet to do it. I've noticed that it's all about skills that's stopping me. I feel lethargic and bored to learn something new that I feel is though, boring or something that takes me lot of time to learn. Since the last 4 years, I haven't designed a since mobile app screen and I have been in the comfort zone of just designing for desktops. I feel intimidated by seeing apps screenshots in Mobbin and realizing that UI design is a craft that takes learn to learn, I just procrastinate learning app UI design.

My pay is low to live a comfortable life in a tier 1 city.  I need to switch to a different company. I lack UI design skills and hence I lack confidence in myself. I regret wasting my time and at the same time, find the process of learning UI design tough. How do I overcome this?

Hi , this post is intended to be a disclaimer to anyone who is planning to join Yubi. A lot of things are happening here that show some signs of an impending layoff

1) Several senior folks in tech and product have quit. Also there is no replacement hiring planned for them. Several projects are also getting shelved as a result.

2) there were several open roles a few weeks back and almost all of them are on hold as of now across all depts( tech , business , ops)

3) rampant cost cutting. The lunch options have been reduced to just 1 dal , 1 veg , rice and chapati.  Snacks have been removed too.


Because of several folks quitting in less than 6 months and no replacement hiring , load has increased tremendously on existing members who are themselves trying to leave. 

People have serious doubts on whether any hike or bonus will be given or not this year.

What is the worst designed app you have seen?

I’ve had this idea for a SaaS since the last 2 years and I’ve been passively trying to build it into existence but no luck. I tried pitching the idea to few VCs and mentors, all of them seemed to validate it for potential. But again, these are people I know personally and unless they have their skin in the game, can’t take their praises to anything tangible in the absence of constructive criticism. Same case with friends who I talk to - everyone likes the idea, but doesn’t want to build it. The idea doesn’t seem interesting enough for them to consider building it even as a side project. Mostly I believe this is because the product targets an industry where there’s sufficient tech involved - yet very less techies who are building for the space. I’ve personally had experience tinkering with development, but haven’t built anything tangible to fruition ever from scratch. This idea has been around my whiteboard for over 2 years - seems like a super obvious idea for a much needed demand. Back then I thought someone would build it before me and kept seeking professionals for help, especially with no-code and AI code tools. Yet, nobody has seemed to move a needle and the space is largely under one monopoly (startup). I want to take it up as a challenge and build it on my own as a side project and see where it goes. Maybe if nobody has built it in 2 years, nobody probably will in the next year either. That’s good enough time for me to acquire my initial set of users. I badly want to build it bootstrapped, but I know that’s a far fetched dream especially given my lack of technical expertise. Hopefully within 6 months, I should have an MVP - that might attract potential cofounders or investors. Wish me luck, folks! 🤞🏽

And if there is going to be learning big or small, why don't we experiment and introduce such type of design which has a learning curve but it'll be worth using that.

PM of 5 years. Same place the whole time. We have a new Engineering Manager. 

They started 2 months ago and at first they seemed like they were very happy to learn our process and products. Then they soon started to manipulate the Engineering team which was very cooperative earlier.

It’s incredibly demotivating. We are a small startup, and the culture isn’t great but seriously no need to be so dismissive of other people’s efforts and feelings. They are just fucking rude. No other word for it really. The problem is that they do NOT get the product side of things so you can’t explain anything to them. They start to physically roll their eyes when you go anymore product than the word “PRD”.

I have never had to deal with someone like this and it’s really stressing me out as they are involved in effectively every project I work on. Advice that isn’t “quit” will be appreciated.

I should also clarify that when I say “product limitations” I really mean how much effort goes into getting things right, the delays are shearing the roadmap apart.
