I have doing a lot research on these D2C brands , these brands are burning VC cash in ads and influncer marketing. 

And what just for topline !!

When will the focus or plan to focus on bottomline !!


Are these guys playing for valuation game or they really want to build profitable business out of it ??

Please correct me if i m wrong , also paying influncers butt load money wothout knowing the ROI , i think influncer marketing is a bubble which is yet to burst and the next phase is influencer led sales !!!

How can I make sure that the influencer that I'm following and consuming content of, is an expert on the topic that he's knowledge sharing on? Are there platforms for this?

Asking coz the number based metrics like follower count, likes, comments etc. can be manipulated easily and now in this AI age, even content can be. Where's the trust and authenticity?

The messaging, effort, influence and impact are the metrics I feel should drive an influencer’s social capital. Any views on this?

Indian SDEs on LinkedIn & Twitter are some of the worst engineers you will ever find across the real world. Their typical value lies around:

- Cracking a FAANG/MAANG or Product company.
- Make an announcement on LinkedIn & Twitter and accumulating followers.
- Starting YouTube channel, Topmate links, affiliate marketing channels, and more.
- Rant DSA, System Design, Interview resources all day long. 
- Post daily of their office, their colleagues, candid shots, and barely getting any work done.

While this is expected out of early career professionals, it pains to see senior SDEs doing the same shit over and over again. Things don't end here — Everyone talks about creating a revolution. And the revolution is teaching DSA. 

If you are an experienced SDE and still ranting DSA, it just means that you have barely learnt anything that is of worth any value. You are atmost a "Ticket Engineer". You get assigned a Jira ticket, you bust your ass solving it, and that's it. That's your entire value. 

Its high time that these "Bhaiya", "Didis", "Bhabhis" stop ranting DSA and System Design over and over, and build something of real value. You would barely see any credible open-source projects coming out of India (but hey, we have some many contributors!), barely any Indie dev project, or anything that captures the attention of the world. 

Literally every popular SDE you might follow or see over your social media is the same. Their entire community game is a farce and designed to capture gullible college students and shill thousands of rupees out of them. You might be featured on Times Square ($40 ka showoff), but no one would remember you for anything that you built.

How much do LinkedIn influencers earn?

I genuinely sometimes don't understand how influencers/content creators earn so much money and just spend on anything. It's too frustrating to see that you work your ass off everyday for 9-10 hours and get those weekends to chill and still can't save up enough money to go to Europe for 2 weeks. On the contrary, the influencers who don't have any fucking talent just do some random bs podcast, some clothing haul, some grwm and then go to a Taylor Swift concert and go to 5 countries in a year with the most luxurious stays. Is it just me or is it frustrating for everyone to see? They will meet any celebrity, buy the latest smartphone, have the best parties etc. It's like I want that life but I don't think I'll be able to ever get there.

Most of the people just keep adding so many irrelevant pictures to their posts!! I mean what do they get out of it. If it’s anything to do with regards to the picture, I understand. Other than that, it has become a trend to add photos to the posts. They say they will have greater reach and greater views. It’s so annoying. I don’t understand the difference between Instagram and LinkedIn. Most of the time I feel Instagram is better than LinkedIn. I have freelanced on upwork earlier and maximum reached $20/hour in development gigs but got burned out by constant pressure of rebidding once the current project gets over. The profile is still 5 star rated but getting full time job through these freelancing platform require lots of marketing and bidding and it’s difficult with day job. However recently I have seem trend where there are some genuine folks such as harkirat who are upping the game by earning around 5 crore annually through posh remote jobs. Has anyone of you tried pursuing that route by reaching out to founders of early stage startups on twitter/linked in or used freelancing portals such as upwork to get full time gigs which pays more than $100k remotely. If yes please share some guidance.
