28-32 years is the ideal age to get married nowadays, marrying at the age of 22-26 is too old fashioned. 🫠

I would say it depends, if you know your partner is good and will support you. Then marriage at this age is OK. I know few of my friends who got married at 25- 26 age and they are happy and settled.

 Think of which parts is job going to contribute and which parts marriage will contribute. 
 Be honest with yourself. DON'T SAY IF MARRIAGE GOES WRONG THEN IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO TICK MARK THIS box. Because SAME CAN HAPPEN WITH CARRER. 
  
 So think of best case scenario of marriage and best case scenario of Career. Then take a paper and count which of these 2 is checking more boxes (of the life desires which I talked in the first line) 
  
 Based on that choose what you should do in your next year's.

To the married folks, would it be different if you would have married later in life? From a personal or objective POV, what’s your take

32+ M here and not yet married.

Got married at  26.  If i get  a time machine, will do it by 24.    There is a quote by ashneer, where he says, 30's are the most important time is building one's career and setting the foundation to make money. Distractions from family life/kids will kill both the careers and family. I think he made perfect sense.  

I think the older one gets, its difficult to have compatibility.  Too many external stimulus corrupts our view of the society. And more over everything has a purpose and we all come with a shelf life.  If chances of starting a family  is slim or nil, whats the point in getting married? one is better of single.

This is the first time I am gonna ask something related to my personal life on grapevine bczz i know my fellow GRAPEVINERS are either went through it , going through it or will gonna experience it . Nowadays the bars for Getting a compatible partner is so high that most of the relationships and marriages aren't even working out .

people who are well settled are even seperating from their partner due to many issues , i am just 22 but it's natural to crave for someone's presence in your life but seeing around the breaks ups and divorces are on a rise due to this busy life , hook up culture , hypergamy etc . It makes me worried that will i actually able to get someone good in my life , i know no one is perfect but what if I'll miss the opportunity to get someone good or what if any toxic person comes who will make life a hell. Many of my friends are in relationship and even those who aren't even sure about their lives and career and the first thing that comes in my mind after watching them is - "Arre iski bhi hai🙂" , 

Right now I am focused on my career but these thoughts strike in my mind from time to time

I have never been in a relationship and haven't talked to girls from the past 6 years for which I can remember correctly.
In my life till now I have approached two, which got declined citing religion, caste as barriers etc

^That’s my parents’ new favorite question, like I can just slot it between investor meetings and product launches.

And yeah, they’re not wrong. By the time I’m ready, I’ll need to have found someone. You can’t just fast-forward to a relationship; it takes time, energy, and mental space — things I don’t have right now.

I get it. One day I’ll probably wonder why I didn’t start sooner. But right now, my focus is here: building this startup. It’s not a 9-5, it’s sleepless nights, constant pressure, and the highs and lows of creating something from scratch.

Then there’s this fear — that I’m screwing up my future by not looking for someone now. That I’ll wake up at 35, alone, asking myself what happened. But forcing a relationship just because it’s “time”? That’s how people end up miserable.

The truth is, most of us in our late 20s are in the same boat. Trying to build something meaningful while figuring out life. Some dive into relationships, others wait it out, and all of us hope we’re not making a mistake.

So when my parents ask again, I’ll keep saying, “not yet.” - idk where this will land me, but I don't really know better!

So… any plans for marriage?

I met a guy through one of those matrimony apps. He works as a consultant in one of the big 4s. Though all the aspects matched between us, he couldn't commit time to the relationship. Shattered, my quest to find the right one also ended because I genuinely didn't know what else to find in any other person. His overdemanding work schedule literally killed the probability of a happy future.  
 My 2 cents: only look for a life companion when you genuinely want to set aside some time to build the relationship just like the startup you're building. A relationship is just like a baby that needs time and care!

I am a 26/M/60+LPA/IITian Software Engineer at a FAANG. I have spent most of my time travelling places with my friends/solo and have dedicated a significant portion of my small life to my career, and I am quite happy with it. I am confused about one thing tho, should I get married? given I am happy living like this, I just want to hear what men have to say on this, I want to know given a chance would you guys get married? If yes how to check if a woman is a fine fit for you? I made a rule to only date a woman who makes at least 70% of my salary OR has an excellent academic background AND should be humble. With these set of rules the chances of finding a girl is almost slim to none given ratio at good colleges and at high paying tech jobs are like that 🤧, I am sure people won't find these rules good, but I want to know if I am being stupid pls correct me it will help me reshape my thinking.

Anybody here who's in their late 20's and family is pressuring them to get married but you're not mentally ready for the responsibility because maybe first you want to achieve something or be in a better place mentally or financially.

For Indian families marriage is just a checkpoint on their long list of responsibilities like science in school, btech in college, gov vs pvt job and stuff. 

I guess marriage is much more than just a wedding. If you're not mentally ready to have a partner reasons could be multiple like maybe you want to achieve something before tying knot or maybe you want to be at a better place mentally or monetary.

Honestly i dont know how to frame this question 
I just need to know the perspectives of married as well unmarried people or maybe any advice.

25M. My parents keep on asking to get marry Because I am earning.. But the thing is I am not prepared for this, need to achieve my goals, not sure I will be reaching my goals after marriage. more over there are some trust issues on arranged marriages. Also I do get this on my mind some times, does marriage is mandatory, can't we live without marriage, I feel this when I see married people pretends  that they are happy outside but they are not inside, reasons might differ, lack of understanding, compromises, adjustments, Financial instability . I am turning 25 next month and my family is after me for getting married. They are saying you need to start looking now so that you will find someone in 1.5-2.5yr till then you will be 27-28. But I am not sure whether I am ready or not I am working in an early stage startup so the job is also not stable. Hey All, 

I'm 26-M earning a descent salary(approx 40k per month). My family doesn't have any property/gold and we live in a rented house. 
90% of my earnings goes to expenditure. And rest 10% goes to some or the other expenditures (like medicine, repairs, travelling etc). At the end of the month my bank account has around 1-2k.

I have no savings, no sip, no shares, no crypto nor additional source of income. 
I'm only running my entire house. 

My parents want me to get married. My parents both have diabetes and my father is 60yrs old.
He wants me to get married as soon as possible so that he can have a cool head. 

The thing is, for marriage also there's no money saved, I have to take some loan (approx 2-3Lakhs) for the marriage. 

Especially in my community, girls are very few in numbers and they have lot of expectations like own house, more than 15LPA, rental income etc etc. 

I only expect one thing from the girl i.e she should be having a minimum degree and should be working. 

But most of the girl's parents are rejecting because of my financial condition. 

I'm in a dilemma whether to stop looking for marriages atleast for 2-3 years(so that atleast my salary would be increased by that time frame). But at the same time I'm feeling scared like once I cross 28 age it would be very difficult to find a match as at that time also I may not own a house.

As of now I don't have any loans to pay.

Throughout my life,I have spent a significant amount of my money to take care of my older brother's education and family responsibilities.

33M here and these points sounded fascinating when I was 25-26, but not anymore. Except for the EMI part everything else looks like a blessing instead of being in a bad marriage. If you're in your late 30s and unmarried, how has it been for you?
