You left your schooling maybe leaving your best friend. You might have done the same with your college. You moved to different place leaving your family. But still you are here. I understand parting ways is part of life. Stay connected on call and meet in person whenever you get time. Also find new mentor in workplace if you could. Please also note that when you both part ways, both of your priorities change. You might not be able to spend same amount of time in future. But live in the moment now, spend good time with your colleague friend now and also live fully whenever you meet them. Also check your emotions if you are getting any negative feelings that he's moving out. Please stay away from them. This is not a race.

I have a female coworker of mine with whom I have become very good friends with. We talk a lot during office hours. I feel very happy around her and i am able to express myself the most in front of her. I keep thinking about her all the time, even when i am at home, during weekends. However i feel that she only thinks of me as a friend and nothing more. This is based on signals i picked up during various instances, conversations we had. This thing breaks my heart. Also since I dont have a friend group as such to make weekend plans with, i mostly keep thinking about this during weekends sitting at home and this shit has been hurting me a lot. Seeing my other friends insta stories is a final bullet which further pushes me into depression. Sometimes i just feel like being open about this in front of her but then this could take a very bad turn if things dont work out in a happy way. I also cannot completely avoid her since we are in the same team and same project. 

Can someone please help with how to deal with this?

Microsoft has lost all respect from me today. Guys please spread the word so that all come to know reality.

I am writing this post on behalf of my friend who is still in bad mood having mental trauma.

Yesterday my friend from Microsoft was let go from his job in India. He was being pressurised to write relieving letter saying he was quitting at his own will and that the HR apparently said if he didn't write the email in next half or 1 hour he won't be getting any severance or benefits by Microsoft India. 

Wait..who does this to an employee? He was so tensed yesterday that he is leaving for his hometown in few days, he doest want to do any job for some time, he was literally crying. 

He said the ones who didnt got laid off have lost the will to work. His friends who got fired are crying as it was least expected from Microsoft.

imo even amazon and sf handled the indian layoffs in a better way than Microsoft.

Other then that Microsoft peeps are not allowed to write anything rubbish on social media. You can yourself see 3 rounds of layoff have happened in India and you will rarelly see any post yet on LinkedIn.

Just imagine to what extent these firms are going to save their image. 😵‍💫🥺

I'm new to this app. Figuring out how it works.
Anyway,
I have recently resigned from one of the big4 firms (or let's say I was forced to resign for some reasons).

I feel traumatized after my experience and also someone who is unable to talk about her emotions easily, I do not feel good and I'm unable to talk about it. I feel helpless and scared to go back to the corporate world.
Does anyone feel the same here?

Hey all, How are you ?
Well I am not fine, I am devastated and have no idea what to do with my life now. As I can't see any way out of this mess where I am right now.
I finally got an offer from a company where I have to join in 1 month but my current company is not allowing me to leave before serving the notice period of 90 days. Despite being on the bench for the last 5 months and still no hope for getting allocated with a project. Firstly, my manager told me that they'll give an early release if I find another opportunity somewhere. But now since I have got the job offer from a different company he denied it. 

The HR of the company where I have to join after a month told me it's not possible to wait for 90 days and he'll revoke the offer if I am unable to join in a month.

😓 my life is a complete mess now. Don't know what to do. I am literally crying every hour, seeing my career getting ruined. It was my mistake joining such a company where employees are not at all valued. 

It was difficult for me to find another job as I didn't have proper experience. I worked on a project for 8 months only and the project got ramped down. 

Now I don't have any choice. I feel like I am trapped for life and there is no way out.
Writing this post with watery eyes. Hoping to know if there is any solution to this trap.

I'm typing this out as a way of collecting my thoughts and feeling a bit normal to take myself through the day. Context: I have been working with a small b2b IT firm for the last 1.5 years, and resigned yesterday. This was my first job straight out of MBA and it has sucked the soul out of me to say the least. The notice period is 3 months and I am really unsure how will I survive it considering that I'm already completely drained. 

I do not want to list out the reasons of how this place has been toxic for me because I also carry a lot of self doubt if it was really the toxicity of the place or my own incapability to handle the work. I do not have any offer in hand, and haven't started a job search either. Just wanted to put this out there to see if people here in the community have been in a similar situation in their professional lives and how did they figure out the uncertainty, was it a good decision for them in retrospect and if they have any tips for me to deal with this better, with less anxiety.

I took the demotion given the market and personal circumstances.

 If I search for opportunities outside I would have to ask for 60 percent hike

I guess, my salary is corrected forever 😪

It's been a week since. Haven't received any confirmation. My new job starts in 2 weeks. My manager says she doesn't know as she herself forwarded the request to her boss. She says it should be done by this week but my anxiety is through the roof. What should I do?

So I guess I hit the mid-life career crisis and finally resigned from Microsoft abruptly yesterday. 

Reasons for resignation:
1. I am saturated with my work and feel out of fuel now.
2. No Pay Raise or Stocks since 2 years.
3. No Promo in last 2 years even after being a top performer and winning multiple awards and accolades.
4. Was promised by my manager that I will be promoted in Feb but now he/she quotes budget.

What my manager says:
1. You have a valid L1B, don't resign.
2. Says you will get the promo in September but now it is not possible.

Please Note: I resigned abruptly without any offers in hand. I guess managers think that folks who have L1B won't resign so their promo can be delayed.

Hey Folks,
I’m in a phase where I have decided to move out from my present company. My present company is very dear to me as it gave me the taste of what success looks like. Honestly, I would have never made it had I not received the support and backing that I got here.

I don’t know if I am making the correct decision. Emotions are literally overflowing. One side of mine tells me that I am making the wrong decision whereas the other side is excited to see what future holds for me. 

Literally anxious of all the thoughts that are crossing my mind. What if , I am not able to perform at my next company ? What if , they decide to hire me and then not honour their offer letter ? What if, the company has a mass layoff and I am impacted ?

All these thoughts are literally eating me from inside. Any suggestions on how can I handle the same ?
