You don't hire smart people and tell them what to do
Steve jobs quoted this: "It doesn't make sense to hire smart people and then tell them what to do , We hire smart people so they can tell us what to do." Is this followed at your startup?
Steve Jobs was a literal micro manager, so this goes against what he himself practiced :)
Yea dude used to fuss all the time. People at apple used to be scared taking the elevator with him because he might fire you if he didn't like what your job was
Didn't he ask a lot of questions till the person had the right answers? And would reduce it when people were on the right track. Tim Cook does the same thing.

Quotes are scam like astrology… Context matters and there’s no one size fits all. Jack Ma also said to higher people smarter than u after a point… But who’s to say that the smart ones don’t take decisions to drive their own cause?
Anyway, life is far more complex than being just a box of chocolates, now.
Jack Ma is just a fancy salesman. I saw some of his videos. Dude is completely clueless about technology. Dude just somehow made it(cough CCP).

Even smart people need to be made to work in a direction for them to achieve something as a group. No point everyone working on their own sweet targets and achieving small things which cannot create a big leap for organization. Its very hard for people to agree, that's why companies are generally much well run (if they survive, with much lower survival rate) than countries. Constitution of country ensures no one gives up freedom, in company, everyone compromises for the CEO's vision.
