Why people in tech hate BJP?
I have seen most of my friends and people are in tech always oppose the current Government. I agree, that current government is not great. But at same time, supporting parties like Congress doesn’t makes sense. Genuinely curious why people think current government is not doing good? I have seen road & rail infrastructure getting improved, defence budget being increased, government making investments in R&D, privatisation of government sectors, making existing processes efficient, and much more. Even the farm bills were good, now what is happening all the middlemen are making money. Communal riots have increased, but I don’t think the government is responsible, it’s people who ignite these riots. At last, why you think current government is not doing good?

Be thankful to all the governments over last 75 years that we didn't end up like Pakistan. No point in blaming Nehru. He deserves his due credit just like the way BJP Govt gets credit as well

Yes, they have done well during their times but I don’t see any strong leader in the current opposition.
Supporting Rahul Gandhi, just because they don’t want to see BJP in power doesn’t makes sense.
The current cabinet is really well qualified and doing good. (But not sure about Nirmala Sitharaman)

UPA cabinet was even more well qualified with P Chidambaram , MMS etc. However it is not a matter of pedigree but how they execute.
Other than NaMo and Gadkari, most ministers are useless in this cabinet
Here are some issues they could not address
1) Petrol Prices are highest in Indian history and flight Charges are highest as well resulting in high price of all essential commodities that depend on logistics
2) We have the highest GST rates in the world and Govt keeps on tinkering with Tax Rates for sunrise ectors like Gaming which does not give confidence
3) We have the highest tax rates in the world but does not get any facilities like free healthcare etc that other countries with similar tax rates have
4)The games played to buy MLAs and topple opposition Govts makes a mockery of democracy
5) Silence of PM and HM etc in issues like Manipur is highly concerning. PM seems to be more bothered about his image outside India that what is happening here
6) Modi doesn't speak to Media which I find very funny 🤣 as if he has something to hide when questions are being asked
Good Things as well
1) India is seen as a rising star and Modi as a world leader which Augurs well for future
2)Infra Work by Gadkari is highly commendable which will help us in years to come
3) We have been able to capture China +1 theme and attract manufacturing companies which will create more jobs

If you still don’t know why the current government is not doing good, itself tells how much interest you have interest in politics and which party you blindly support.
Its rightly said, privileged people might never be able to understand what all an underprivileged goes through.
Regarding your statement about Communal Riots, makes me think how can someone be so ignorant? Like seriously? Dude if you have even an iota of wisdom, think before you speak!

Thanks for sharing your wisdom. That’s what I am asking share the points where government hasn’t done well.
Also, points which makes you feel the other parties can improve the situation.
I mentioned my points above why I think the current government is doing good. Also, I do not come from privileged background, built everything with scratch and currently paying 30% in taxes.

I am in tech and not hate bjp because of few reasons
No terror attacks like before in any part of the country except pulwana ( That's is exceptional case - Army is still struggling to streamline the security became of Locals Support)
Recent developments: Road, Rail and Metros is constantly evolving
Controlled COVID situation effectively
Employment and Layoff, Better than US, UK
Better than other political party where all the political parties coming together but where is the USP, Who will be the leader and Stability?

My friend death became a hidden statistic under bjp’s so called covid management. We never got to see his body as well as well - the hospital disposed it somewhere and we don’t even know if he got a proper funeral.
People were dying and our government did nothing. I know you are going to say - “it could have been worse “. That’s the bjp motto - hypotheticals and whataboutism.

Pros: Great product, good tech
Cons: absent gtm, clueless leadership, leadership quitting, of late we’ve been asked to make do with what we have leading to bandwidth issues.
It’s a gully were in, but looks like it could be tougher to get out with every passing quarter if we don’t double down on gtm
Culture : people are good, respectful, gets taxing only when bandwidth issues hinder delivery
1. Rising communal tensions. If you feel BJP is not responsible for it, then you're purposefully turning a blind eye. From Ayodhya to Gujarat to the recent hijab ban in Karnataka, BJP has always been using communal tension to get votes
2. Using government bodies like ED to silence people opposing them. Also influencing supreme court judges by offering them top posts after retirement in return for judgements favouring BJP. Trying to buy vote banks like they are trying to do in Kerala with Christians.
3. Blaming past governments for anything and everything. Even after almost 10 years of ruling they keep on saying everything is Nehru's fault and never accept their own mistakes
4. Taxing the shit out of salaried class because they know they don't need salaried class votes to win.
I agree that there aren't much options in terms of who else to vote for. But if BJP wins again all these issues will be amplified in the next 5 years. So anyone other than BJP is fine for me.

1. Please take a look at data points, communal riots happened in the past vs in the last 10 years.
2. Uncertain about this, maybe or maybe not. Neither you know accused personally or you work directly with ED.
It would be hard to justify this statement.
3. Be a sensible citizen, evaluate on your on. Appreciate the good things, criticize the wrong doings.
For ex. Farm bills were good you should’ve appreciated it. All the middlemen are making money now.
Taxation policy like tcs, renaming things, etc should be criticised.
4. We’re paying taxes so that underprivileged in India can develop. I don’t see a problem here (I pay 30% in taxes).

As long as one community is being killed in Manipur by the other, with no intervention from the government, home ministry, jaisa chal raha hai, chalne do.
The government does a lot of good stuff but isn't this issue glaring enough to warrant scrutiny or criticism? Or is it well beyond all these - just petty murders in some small state filled with folks who don't necessarily look Indian.
Or are they busy jerking off to a moon mission.

What is happening in Manipur is disheartening, but do you think any government ignited this? And I believe government is also much concerned about the situation as we are.
No, I am not pointing in that direction at all. Forget about then vs now, but is it too much to ask the government to act in the here and now instead of point to figures in retrospect?
Just accountability and action beyond expression of concern. That's it.
I don't know how it came across as me asking for the government to be overthrown, but I know it's capable of doing what is least expected -(a) being there and (b) to govern in an efficient manner. That's it.
As a politically independent citizen, I think I will bash the current government no matter which party it belongs to. Until and unless I am not getting my taxpayer money's worth, they are doing a pretty bad job.
A PM who is scared of facing the press is never a great one. I want my leader to lead from the front (read Manipur situation), not hide behind his PR team.

It isnt about a general set of folks, but BJP has done just patchwork or band aid solutions to some problems in the country in their own ideological manner. During the 10 Year Mandate given by people to them they could've addressed structural deficiencies of the country like Caste, Education , R&D and Manufacturing improvement. Taxation and other areas where human life quality will increase is not touched by Govt. BJP. The cost of this Band Aid solution is borne by Chipping away constitutional mechanisms and rights and systematic trampling of institutions. Their god complex and exceptionalism is becoming a nuisance to india rather than helping the country. They too crave for power etc like Congress and other parties.

The post creator acknowledges the fact that communal riots have increased, but in the comments goes the whataboutery route of asking others to show data.
Yes people ignite the riots and communal killings but more often then not those people have some links to BJP. And the government is responsible because it's actively supporting that atmosphere. You can look into the statements made by BJP ministers including Modi's. A leader may not directly be responsible, but even a small hint from him, serves as a validation for the ground workers. Government is the biggest advertiser of prime time media, and prime time news is nothing but non sense debate of Hindu/muslim. I honestly believe if media starts taking its job seriously BJP doesn't stand a chance in 2024. One interview with the likes of thappar or ravish, and Modi's career is over, just like it was for Rahul Gandhi after Arnab's interview.
For a country to progress, freedom of expressing is absolutely necessary and that includes the ability to criticise the government freely and publicly without fear, which is not the case as of now. I doubt anyone who have engaged till now, would do the same if same question was asked on Twitter or Facebook, I know I won't.
I hope this question is not a trap and hopefully I don't see govt knocking at my door step 😅.
I do because I hate religion, caste and everything BJP stands for. I don't care much for Congress either as it is also an elite institution populated by the '1% poor', but it is the lesser of two evils.
Ah, let me go ahead with why I personally hate BJP.
1. It's because of what they represent. Divisive politics and politics of majortarianism/power.
2. They don't give a damn about people, all they care is to stay in power.
3. They tried to legalize corruption Via electoral bonds
4. Weren't ready to pay ex-gratia to covid victims (Supreme Court had to fucking order them to do so, they didn't have money, and the reason why we saw constant rise in petrol prices from 2020)
5. They make money from taxes - GST, import duty and fucking excise duty, VAT.
6. Crude oil was cheaper, but they decided to increases taxes on it to make petrol expensive. We pay around 60% of the money we spend on petrol as taxes(both state and central). Why can't they bring this under GST?
7. Same goes with Airline fuel. Do you know we have the most expensive airline fuel in the world? Why not bring it under GST? It's something even Indigo higher ups are constantly asking the government
8. Farm laws weren't in support of the farmers. They did look like that, but it wasn't. The way govt handled farmers protest was so poor in taste
9. In continuation of their divisive politics - the way they handled Manipur violence, student protests in Delhi, CAA/NRC protests, their hate speeches
10. Their way of owning the law and horse trading mlas
11. Them saying they work for women empowerment and all, but have the most MLAs/MPs with crimes against women
12. Total control of mass media ( I mean, literally total now, where media is their broadcaster, which also spews hatred)
13. Bringing in demonetization (it was a mistake, and had execution problems)
14. Imprisoning journalists under draconian laws like UAPA and sedition
15. Total disregard for public infrastructure, eg. airports are constructed with substandard materials (they make money from this), then once the airport is damaged, again use public Funds for it
16. Pegasus spyware tracking shit they pulled (accusation at this point, not being proven)

As someone who has designed political campaigns for parties, would suggest @proton to read more about politics and society in general. You lost me when you said people ignite riots. I have seen working class supporting BJP cos they don’t care much (not all) about the real things affecting the society than mere numbers on papers and their salary. Also, upa had more educated ministers. Read about how MP govt is forcing Hindi language in medicine (MBBS,MD) books while the CM’s son goes to US university? Centre asking the IIMs to use local languages. didn’t read about how MLAs are being brought? Manipur ethnic cleansing? Don’t blame you. The BJP is great with the PR. But read more.
