I've interned at a famous dating app and I realized that dating apps aren't for guys like me during interning there.

1. Being a man. Your looks do not matter. As long as you are not bald. If then, you have to compensate on the money area.
2. You do not need to be rich. Normal middle class is enough but you need to be in an aspirational position. Meaning either employed in certain "branded" companies, or living abroad, or having the potential to go abroad or having a desirable qualification..etc..

The Internet has democratized the dating market. So if 10 women and 10 men are there, then 8 of them want only the top 3 men. The bottom 4 are not going to get any match. Their looks, character, money don't matter. It's something men have to accept. The women who didn't get that "top 3" are going to reject everyone.
