Career break for mental health improvement

Is it okay to take career break of 3 months for mental health. I got laid off but got job within 1 month but feeling anxiety and mental disturbance and need some time to cope up.

Something happened inbetween due to loneliness and hits a bad way so I need some time to prepare mental health back.

Is it okay to take break?

My friend, if you are going to remain lonely & anxious while you are on break then it will bring no change in your mental health. Speak to someone, discuss things which troubles you, even though it sound stupid. Taking help for mental health is completely fine, everybody needs it every now & then. Unless you make peace/resolve with the underlying issues which is causing you loneliness & anxiety taking a break will not be very helpful.

No need to pay attention to the above comment. People who haven’t had mental health problems think its just a sad day that one can get over.

I will ask you/people this - would one still be asking this question if it was a physical illness? Is it okay to take a break if I’m on bedrest? They would not. Sadly mental health doesn’t get the same treatment. This is coming from someone who took a 1 month unpaid sabbatical for my mental health. (Medically diagnosed anxiety with medication so trust me I understand)

As long as you are able to support yourself financially, do as you wish and you are answerable to no one. It is your health and your body- when shit hits the ceiling none of these people will be there to help you no matter how hard you worked at your job, it is you who will need to take care of yourself.

In 5, 10, 20 years this break will not matter to your career. But if you ignore your health and god forbid it becomes worse, then no amount of job prestige or money can solve it.

YES
PLEASE

Dont listen to the people who belittle your mental health needs by saying "its just a bad day, this too shall pass" or "man up" or "go boss gurl".

A lot of grapevine are insensitive and think its cool to make someone sound weak because of something thats very obvious. Some people have this weird fetish to prove that they are stronger than you by telling you to ignore such things and focus on your work. FUCK PEOPLE. FUCK THIS WORLDD.

If you take another break , it might not recover you .So fight the adversities and you will feel better after few days.
