I’m currently an SDE3 at 7 YOE with majority of it in Node.js/Typescript. Was applying out but got outright rejected at few companies due to no prior Java experience. 
Have a verbal acceptance from a company in Java, should I be prioritising that over others to learn the stack for future?

Seems Java is used heavily across many organisations and a lot of job postings involve Java compared to Golang, Python, Ruby, Node etc

Wanted to know your experience with java codebases, how's the code quality, what issue do you'll face or in general your experience

Considering several companies might be running java due to legacy code or upgrades issues. Are you'll planning to migrate these services to another language?

Suppose you’re a senior frontend/backend/devops person - basically one stack where your core skills are and those same skills will be tested in your next jump interview. Now if you’re a backend person with core skills in Java & Postgresql but due to some reasons you’re now asked to contribute in frontend code. Now you don’t want to sell yourself as fullstack in ur next move and time would be better spent learning Go… So just to make current job easier for yourself, do you spend time in learning frontend too? Or do you just somehow make it work without learning how and why?

And truthfully keeping yourself updated or upskilling in Java itself is a time consuming task.

Does it make sense to improve in non expertise area?

I work in a slowing industry (Ed-Tech!) in a generalist role (Project Management!) for half a decade now! You'd think I would be better positioned to deal with life! Heck, NO! 

This crippling feeling of insecurity or job loss always puts an extra stress on day to day life. I couldn't take any risks in terms of a house or a car or a big EMI purchase in life! 

What if I get laid off? Will this generalist role help in landing anything next? Do I need an MBA for that? Switching to any specialized roles will take extensive preparation with time being in short supply with family and kids! 

Seem to have been strangled in the startup world. Any cure for this?

P.S : Sometimes thinking : Mommy sahi bolti thi. Govt job le leni chahiye thi. :D

I had a business which pretty much folded and failed. Have no talent outside that spectrum. 
Wanna become a developer, since I have interest in IT and what I can do with IT talent. Besides IT field gives a decent pay of 10-15lkhs 

Can I strive to push myself to learn to become a Java developer or should I choose something else??

How much CTC we can get for 8.5 YOE for Java Developer

We faced a really slow moving job market in Indian IT last financial year. I heard this year it will open some opportunities. It is almost the end of April and I am not getting any calls from the recruiters. FYI, I am a Java backend tech lead, Open for architect position as well. Having 9+ experience entirely in the same technology and in the digital banking domain. 

I am worried, will the market ever be back to normal like it was pre-covid? Even during lockdown, there was a lot of hiring.  
What's wrong now? 
Wars one after another, making uncertainty.
I personally feel, during the WFH period they hired people from different cities and made them work together, which worked fine for WFH. Now they're forcing us to work with a team which is not in your office, not even in your city. Now, they don't need to hire people from the same city/location which makes their job easier. They just pick someone from the pool, internal  recruitment etc. 
People are fearing job security so a very few are putting papers, resulting in no vacancies. 

The market is completely biased towards employers and we can't do anything about it.
When will this end?

I am working on Java since past 3.5 years and having package 8.5L know technologies like:
Core Java,Servlet,JSP,Spring,Spring Boot,SQL,HTML,CSS,JS and Typescript

Do I need to learn any technologies point of view..? 

And how much should I ask for next switch getting confused will appreciate your help
