How the F do I deal with overworkers?

You know those type of people? The ones who believe they know everything, everyone else is beneath them, but in reality are extremely stupid? The ones who will never admit they are wrong even if you show them why? The ones who will try to demean you at every step of the way cause it gives them pleasure? The ones who you just want to punch as soon as you see them in office? Yeah, I know you’re thinking about atleast one person while reading this. My question is what has your strategy been in dealing with these people? So far in my journey, I haven’t faced any sadistic manager, so that has been great, but the people, my god, some of the tech guys in my teams have been absolutely the most frustrating human beings I’ve encountered. Ofcourse the first thing to do is to take a step back and reevaluate whether if it is you who has been the actual asshole all along, but after that, if you are still convinced that the other person is nothing but the living embodiment of satan, how do you guys go about dealing with them?

Now a days work is never ever getting completed, we are working even after the office hours because every project is a p0 project, also managers are autocrative then a tech lead who dont have l0 knowledge but will comment on your timelines and i really doubt that with this culture in it industry i would really want to continue for long run. Are there some better career pivots that should be consider in mid 20s to avoid life long suffering ?

Lately it's been really hard trying to cope up with derogatory comments and people trying to pull you down. I build/refactored some of our codebase and things go south in terms of performance at few places. I realised the mistake and fixed the performance bottlenecks that happened because of me in least time possible. But people still look down on me on and manager keeps passing hurtful comments about the incident every now and then. Moreover there's worse happening fellow people start blaming you for the performance of code you haven't even touched. You are just utilizing some function in your codebase written by some other person. I don't know how to handle all this and what should I do to avoid this? Mistakes happen, bugs go on prod, things can break but as far as once everything stabilise, we should move on.

Co workers and colleagues who seem OK to talk and discuss in person turn passive aggressive and boss around on Slack channels. They use terms like “As discussed multiple times” , “despite mentioning” etc etc and when you talk to them in person everything seems fine and you start wondering why do they push others down in the first place? Is to to show seniors/managers that there’re more superior? How do you deal with such people? Any tips ?

My Performance in my new job has been very very nominal with lots of things that I may have missed or people might have not had my visibility or just because I don't feel I belong there. People here rather focus on the negatives or the mistakes I have made rather than the improvements I have done. I fear I would be put in PIP and let go off! I feel it would be okay, not the end of the world, but I fear I would be branded as person who went into the big leagues and who couldn't hack it🥹 Has this ever happened to anyone? Any tips on how to deal with it? I personally dread the Mondays that come.

All the People Managers here, comment below, What do you really want out of your team and for yourself at work? Do you really enjoy micromanaging people and showing off your authority by hyper monitoring them and messing up their work life balance? Do you want to be respected and loved by your team or you just want to be feared by them to feel better about yourself? Using fear as a motivator does not really increase your team’s productivity you know? Please enlighten me 🙏

Currently i am facing too many tasks that my manager is assigning to me. because of this i am not able to focus on other life activities like gym, swimming, etc. i log in at 8 and work till 8 , also i get very exhausted after coming from office.!? What should i do.!? Also the performance review week is near i.e next month.!?

How do you define work life balance boundaries at work? Everyone in my team works 10-12 hrs daily, it’s business as usual for them. I joined recently and it’s very problematic for me, I literally get no time to do anything else. I fear, that if I highlight this I’ll be singled out. Some people even feel very proud in doing so which I don’t understand. Don’t they want to go back home to their family and spend time with them? Please provide guidance on how to set these boundaries and am I thinking right?

Manager seems to give more work when I complete the assigned task in a short period. Should I do work at the pace of others in the team who work at normal pace or continue with the very fast pace. How to escape this deadlock. Btw, I try to be fast paced in my work to maintain WLB and have some me time. Advise/Opinions please.
