You will need to make a new bank account as well, they have partnered with Federal Bank for US stocks . Whole process doesn't take more than 30 mins.

Use Vested, have been using it for 2 years and had like 70% profit on my tiny portfolio (I say had because I invested after a year again and it went to forty)
Get an axis bank account they have a tie up and you'll be charged 0 brokerage fees. With other accounts they'll charge a good amount
There's a lot of things written on the website, the new user gets 5$ is one of them

Interactive Broker is best.
I do long term investing and the costs are very low. Not sure if you want to trade regularly
Are the costs lower than IndMoney/Vested as well? I have heard good things about them, thinking about switching.
Just want to know why you want to invest in US stocks, taxation on profit makes it hard to get good returns in my opinion
What if someone invest in some US index fund/etf but never redeem the investment? If ever he/she needs the money, they can avail loans against mutual funds (slightly more expensive than home loans) and let the money continue to be invested.

I mean, instead of investing in us stocks, try MFs which are investing in US stocks

I don't plan on trading or picking individual US stocks
So I invest in Nasdaq and US Total Market funds through Indian FoF, this doesn't require making any new bank account and money stays in INR

Use Fi Money or instead buy a mutual fund which invests in american company indexes

Stockal is also a great choice
Stockal, but the initial paperwork sucks as you have instruct bank and give reasons on sending money out + declaration during IT returns about holding foreign assets
