REJECT The Company The Way They Do It

This was my pathetic interview experience with Acceldata india with a very unprofessional and lying recruiter. This story has a satisfying ending. I attended 6 rounds of interviews in 1 month and completed a take home assignment. I cleared all the rounds and even had a manager discussion about my onboarding. All good so far. Few days later the recruiter called back and said we need one more round (8th round) with the director who sits in US office. I said Ok and he scheduled this call on a Friday 10pm at night. At 9:55pm I tried to join the meeting link he sent but the link was not working. I tried in different browsers, different laptop, different internet connection. No luck. So I reached out to recruiter on mobile and he doesn't pick up. I know he's available because he was on call with someone else. I even tried reaching him via a different phone number but still no luck. Imagine the anxiety and panic I had to go through since I felt that it was my fault. On, next day he casually calls me in the morning to say that "Sorry I tried calling you 2 days ago but your mobile was unreachable (which is a plain lie). He says he cancelled the meeting because he found another candidate with lower salary. That's fine, and I don't give a damn at this point. But I asked why didn't he send meeting cancelled email so I didn't have to panic on a friday late night. He casually says "Sorry about that". That's the last I hear of him. No response after that. All this after going through 8 rounds of interviews and a take home assignment. All because this a--hole recruiter lied to my face and couldn't send a simple email. Funny thing is: Another recruiter reached out to me 3 months later for the same role. Apparently the candidate they hired instead of me backed out at the last miniute. 🤣 If you get a chance to interview at AccelData, trust me, please don't waste your time. The company and the recruiting practises are not worth your time, even if you are jobless.

Has anyone rejected an offer making them wait for 60 days? And do you feel guilty for doing it, if yes then how do you deal with it?

Today I got a very interesting call from the HR. After passing one technical round with the hiring manager and the technical test, the HR told me that I am rejected because I am not from a tier 1 institute and my 1.5 years of FTE experience is not the same as compared to the students who WILL pass out this year from a tier 1 institute.

What should I do when a interviewer is less qualified then you for the role you apply 😄🫣

Once we accept multiple offers, how and when should be reject them before joining in a good way? And do companies blacklist if we reject the offer after accepting?

What the hell is wrong with companies these days? They are trying to take advantage of laid off people!! I had 2 offers from renowned companies, both of them quoted me numbers and I agreed with. And now, the HR calls me and says since you don’t have a counter offer we can’t offer you that much we promised you earlier. Well, f*** you. I have competing offers but just got them confirmed over calls. As soon as I get them, I’m gonna kick your offer and never coming back doesn’t matter how much you pay. And for sure, I am gonna keep you hanging till the very last moment of joining date and then just write a apology mail (which I wouldn’t even mean) saying that sorry I can’t join tomorrow. You get what you deserve. I deserve better compensation, better people and not just the ones who goes back on their words. F*** you again!!

CEO Status driven, low confident CEO who thinks that a CEO should dress like a movie CEO aka wearing suits all the time and thinks that watching sports makes you cool. Super micro-manager. This idiot gifted a basketball to CPO on CPO's 5th work anniversary. Will make random suggestions to the product team based on absolute random assumptions. This guy has more chances of death by confirmation bias than anything else in the world. Lack of clarity and vision for the company. Low trust in people who he works with. COO I saw her only once in the office since I joined the company in my 14 months of tenure, people say she is working from home but all the employees are forced to come to the office and work. CPO This guy will never say no to any product/feature requirement and commit an optimistic timeline of delivery without thinking or syncing with the team internally. Due to him I lost respect for MBA turned managers who think they can do it all. Will never accept he was wrong or take one for the team. Will shit on others to retain you. Will make team members fight among themselves. Will say that you are the owner of the product/project/task/charter given to you but will make sure to overturn decisions made independently by you. This guy always assumes that he is right without thinking through. He does not even understand what all problems we face at the layer. Has world class expectations but with peanut salary. This douche bag stole my ideas and presented it to his ideas. Had to forcefully schedule 1-1's with him to get feedback on my performance, that too was very generic and had a few points where I made mistakes but no actionable point of how that area can be improved. At CPO level I expect you to have basic product design sense and when I describe the screen roughly you should be able to imagine it but this A-hole will always stress on a proper product design with all the color and all and not even a wireframe.

I got an offer, I knew the role was not great but still went ahead to see if pay would be better (75% up). But I still would like to try for a better role and not accept this. I need your suggestion on how to do this, so that I won't be blacklisted for future opportunities of the offered company.

I recently received an offer from an org. After multiple rounds I was told I was selected and we discussed numbers. However I did not receive any offer for a month. I in the meantime checked about company culture and found out it's not good and when I did get offer after a month, I rejected it within the same day. I did ask them to send over the offer since I was still pondering. HR called me post that and started calling me unprofessional that I rejected offer post receiveing the letter and why I did not reject it earlier. Was I unprofessional? And honestly most of the companies reject candidates left right and center without a second thought post multiple interviews.
