Smoked a cigarette and realized that life is more than working...

I have been working for over 5 years now. I have recently completed 2 years at EY. It is becoming very apparent that life is more than working. When I joined EY it felt all rosy first. I was working with a client and it was actually quite fun. I loved going to Aerocity on some occasions and Roseate House was my hangout spot with most of my colleagues. The vanity is now fading away. Expensive drinks don't make me feel happy any more. Feeling lonelier today than ever before. What is life's purpose? All my life I rarely worked as hard as Science students. Now I earn less than them and feel that I made a mistake. I should have taken Science and studied Engineering. Atleast I would be making better salary. If you agree with me. Can you please comment? I am feeling so alone in my struggles. Need your support.

Why are you all glorifying smoking? Instead meditate or listen songs or whatever. End of day your health matters the most and if you smoke you are cheating on yourself.

I have been working with another big 4 from last 1 year. Before that I had a close to 2 years stint with a startup. In previous organisation, made some good friends, still in touch with them. The environment was exceptional, it was fun to work with them. Despite workload, never felt the burden. But now despite being in a big brand, feeling lost somewhere. Don't know where to go. Outside, if i tell someone, this is the issue, people tell are bhai tu bde brand h aage ka soch... But i am not able to think straight. Been more than 1 year I have been to my home.

One would feel this when one forgets to pay gratitude to what they already have in present. You are able to even breathe without any support, 3 times meal, friends, family, all body parts functioning in right way is at times we forget how fortunate we are. And look at things that might have, should have happened. In fact wherever u are determine to grow there itself. Everything that’s happened to u is for your own happiness

Not taking science has been the biggest regret. Even though I got into a really good commerce college but there's just no way of competing with science folks even from T2/T3 colleges. Cannot imagine how bad it must be for non science T2/T3 people.

What to do in life? Feeling aimless

Being anonymous gives me a safe space. But life is getting tougher than ever each day. I wish I had a better paying job. I wish I had time to have slow mornings. I wish I could provide for my family and give them the things they much deserve. I wish I had a chance to rewire rewind and restart. I wish I could do more than I wish to do. It's all wishes guys . It's all hopes. . Nothing seems fulfilling. Nothing seems to make me happy. I have forgotten what carefree days were like. Adulting is kinda hitting hard. I am not able to cope up. What gives your life meaning ?

For me it was always startups and now looking at the landscape I think it’s very hard. For 8 years, I just wasted my time. Anything I am building is failing. Couldn’t raise any funds, non of my products reached mass market or gain enough profits. Have skills but non to utilise on! Indian B2C is extremely hard, and even though people think Saas is great, bad news guys, Indian business rather use excel than pay for jira. There is a saying now - “Easier to earn a dollar than a rupee”. Have meet so many founders and VCs. Most of them lost touch of reality. Either moved to US or on leave from their own startups. Only think I know is going through a complete mental breakdown and no one to look up to. My gf left last year, can’t even get any jobs in this market neither can build something useful.
