I recently got an offer and the notice period over there is 60 days. In my past companies it was 30 days everywhere. Just wanted to know your opinion.

I seriously, respectfully, want to understand why is this rule? Even the company you are hiring for has 60 days notice period or even more.
In todays market nobody wants to resign without an offer. 
People having 60 days( or 90 days) notice period, what should they actually do.

Precisely. Also if they meet someone who is an immediate joiner, first question they ask if why did you leave your job without another offer! I mean do you have to pay my bills or rent? Your role is just to match if the candidate fits the job profile and forward their resume. Never understood this outdated thinking that if someone is not working currently, there is something wrong with them. Maybe they have well off parents?? But no everyone is assumed living paycheck to paycheck

Talking about the new obsession with one nation and one xxxx, a thing that actually matters to us fellow employees is one nation one month notice period. This rule is to ensure the notice period is of max one month and not a day beyond it. 

I know many companies have a 2 week policy and lots of companies in the west have this policy (including startups). But why do a lot of us have to suffer because of 2 and 3 month notice periods when most of the recruiters aren't willing to wait for so long? Also the irony, all these companies want immediate availability. It's high time we make this a law, Modi pls pass the bill for one nation one month notice period.

Some well known companies reject potential candidates because notice period at their current organisation is >1 month, but they themselves have 2-3 months of notice period ⚔️

In my opinion, how a company treats an employee after they've resigned relatively tells more about the culture than onboarding/interviewing 🥴

Companies arent looking forward to hire me if I say I have 3 months notice period. If say I have 10-30 days of notice period, and if I do land a opportunity, how can I join the newer company on immediate basis without serving 3 motnhs. Buyout option is by having to pay the equivalent of 3 months, which goes beyond 200k. I am not willing to pay a company this much amount, given I only earned 300k from them. Should I first apply for notice period and then start interviewing or first land an opporutnity and then apply for notice period.

I have been searching for jobs since last few months and initially I used to mention my notice period as 90 days. Recruiters used to treat me like minorities in this country. Then I updated it to 60 days actual still being 90 days. However, I started fetching interview calls and eventually cracked one today. The company wants me to join ASAP with an option to buyout the notice period. However, my current company is stuck to age old 90 day notice period and I don't think there's a buyout option with them.

I do have seen a case of 37 day release but need help in ways of tackling with this 90 day NP.
P.S. Deployed on client side. Have amazing working relationship with the client manager. But don't want to utilise that as I am not sure if it will turn out good or bad. As I have seen things turning hostile once you put down papers.
