While this happened she didn’t tell and once the marriage thing started happening - she confessed
Both of their families know each other as they were about to get married
Now this friend is asking if he should move on or give an another chance

On the plus side, she's come clean before the wedding. Thats better than him discovering this on his own or a few years after they would've been married.
That's a big step and would have taken quite something for her to build courage and fess up.
I'd say while it may have shaken up your friends trust in her, he shouldn't be impulsive about the decision.

Adding to this if the guy ends up marrying the girl he should have some kind of pre-nup signed from her (I know pre-nuptual agreements aren't enforcible in the Indian court of law but it sets the right expectations from the start) that she isn't going to get any piece of his business if they separate later.
This will give a slightly better piece of mind to both the founders.

Nope nope. Better to part ways. There is definitely a reason the person reached out to someone else when they were vulnerable. It would just take a much worser toll on both of this happened after marriage. Better to not be bogged down by the fidelity thing in this case. At this point, they can part on very healthy mature way, stay friends, mature as people and figure out the self.
I hope she is not feeling pressured to marry the quintessential good guy but there is something missing. Now, if that feeling persists, it could manifest into a very unhealthy marriage. Personally, I am a huge believer of marriage but as an institution, it’s the most difficult one to manage and keep.
