100% of women in India above 18 yrs, have been subjected to physical harrasment

Above 18? I was groped at 11! It was very bad. It wasnt a touch and run. I was in a crowd and was groped for a good 10mins or so...and repeatedly. At 13, I was groped in an AC bus while I was traveling with my family. These are just major incidents. There are numerous such.
I was sooo traumatized. It took me almost 6 months to be comfortable to disrobe to take bath. I was constantly scared that some one would slide down the bathroom window.

I know not all men are rapists but if a stranger woman would feel uncomfortable with me ever, I understand where it is coming from and wouldn't take it personally
In my case it is true.
I faced a groping situation when 13 yo, just developing into woman. I cannot even explain how traumatic it was, I didn't understand what happened.
I obviously didn't share this anyone, was ashamed of myself to even talk about it.
Some topic came up, and I mentioned this to my boyfriend (now ex) and he laughed! HE LAUGHED!

If men comment, this is not true. You haven't talked to enough women at a deeper level. Even your mothers won't share such a thing
I was molested at 10 years old by a distant relative, at 11 years by family friend son (repeatative), at 12 by dad friend (repetitive), at 19 in Delhi metro, at 31 again at Delhi metro station when I was with my husband.
It's very depressing to be a girl. After 25years atleast I got the courage to fight back. But trust me from my Delhi metro incident It's a bad idea to fight back sometimes as it might result into more bad things.
Major one I frgt. I was grouped and kissed when I was 6 years old. I just told my mom that uncle is bad and she understood and she didn't do anything. I want to come face to face to that man and slap him very hard. And I want to tell his daughter what he did to me and my friend.
Do fight back. Yes situation can become bad, which is where we need to understand how to fight back, i.e. sometimes not physically. You can always record and file a police complaint (not easy to record if it just happens like a quick touch). This is just one idea, but I do understand your concern as well, so that's why implied in beginning that we have to be judicious too.

Don't even remember the age since when these things started to happen.
2 incidents I will never forget were :
1. While coming back from school, I crossed my school gate and was going towards the public bus stop, there was a guy walking in front me and he was carrying a folder and on its cover there was photo of nude women and men. I still failed to understand what his motive was.
2. In the city bus I was standing and then there was a guy was constantly rubbing his leg on mine. I got scared and swapped my place with someone else.
Groping is so common, if we try to cover our front from bag then guys touch our back on crowded areas.
Reading some comments from women(anonymous but let's believe), I feel this is where having brother or brothers is great. They would f*** these molester bastards (in their capacity and age of course).
So sorry to hear what these went through as grown up children or some in their early teens 🤦😥
Another good thing is much higher awareness on self defence (and I feel should not be just for girls). But on other side, a big challenge in execution or conducting these session across India. Schools should start taking ownership in execution by partnering with such organizations. At School level, such management is better organized, and dual benefit of making girls and boys strong at an early age.
I was below 18, I was in class 8th when I was groped by someone random for the first time, then an aged man with a grey beard, ohh... the list is long. All the women in my family of all generations faced this. My dadi maa was raped by her maternal uncle, we found about it in her diary after her demise.

the one thing that is worse is to feel unsafe in our own houses because the battles that we are supposed to fight with other monsters are at times disguised as her own family member like maternal uncle. Forget about others, it was very difficult for me to even believe that the hands i am feeling over me while i was alseep was of my father. I was 12. "Why would my own father do that? I am just overthinking" this is what i kept telling my self until one fine day when i was 14 years old i got to know that he was my step father and he adopted me when i was just 1 and half year old.
it happed again when i was 14 and then again when i was 16, where he would ask me to hug me forcefully and ask me uncomfortable questions. And when i finally got the courage to speak up and tell my mom, she upfrontly declared me a liar and quoted "why would he do that, he has practically raised you?"
This thing gave him courgae to do it again and when he did it again i decided to record his calls and i made my mom listen it and that point she fought with him and wanted a divorce, however it wasnt for me that she took stand for but for herself since she felt betrayed.
I still remember her statement, "You ruined my marriage" this is what she said to me.
Im 22 today and i still dont sleep peacefully in my own house because even after all this we stay in the same house since "WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A FAMILY"
No one can prove you wrong, except women who haven't grown up in India. I was groped when waiting in a hugely crowded temple wearing a completely modest dress.
