Abuse of power by senior management at work!

For the 1st year in organization, my peers tried to hurt me by insulting in public/ group meetings. When I reported the incidents to my leader he assured he will do something but nothing was done. After waiting patiently for 2 months and seeing increasing attacks from peers via other modes I reported the incident to the HR. Please share your comments if I did the right thing or not ?

Workplace Toxicity at HSBC

I have been working in HSBC GSC HYD for more than a year and as this journey comes to an end now, I would like to share my experience with you all. The first thing that comes in our mind while joining any new company is about their workplace environment and their HR policies. There have been quite a few incidents that happened during the last one year which I neglected thinking "Isn't this what corporate life feels like?" I neglected everything to the point where it became unbearable for me and made me go through some serious mental health issues and panic attacks. The most recent incident that I would like to share with you all is when I was ethnically humiliated by one of my colleague. The incident happened on 22 April 2024 when I was subjected to ethnically insensitive remarks by my colleague AA. The exacts words which was used by him is 'EK CHAMAAT MAARENGE, BIHAR PAHUCH JAOGI' which exactly means - I will slap you so hard, you will go back to Bihar. I did follow the protocol and informed my manager AT about the whole incident but nothing came out of it, except for a team meeting where I was told that my colleague did not physically assault me, it was just a hatred comment which I can let go of. I reached out to the concerned HR team and filed a POSH Complaint for the same, after weeks of the incident, on 3 May, I received an email from the HR team to give feedback for the same without any updates on what action was taken. I did let go of everything thinking that anyways I will be leaving the office soon as I am currently in my notice period when another incident happened. I was on a smoke break when VKR, AMO from the UK CDD team approached me and made objectifying remarks on me. The comment he made was 'Tmhare jaisi ladki hum aaj tk ni dekhe hai, akele pura UK team ka naam kharab kr k rkhi hai.' which means - He has never seen a girl like me, I have ruined the name of their team. I did ask him the reason for saying such things to which he replied 'tmhare alawa kisi UK team ki ladki ko hm ni dkhe hai cigarette pite huye' which means - he has never seen any girl from the UK team smoking cigarettes. Later while going back inside the office, I saw him eating tobacco and spitting on the wall inside the office premises. My LWD is 13 June 2024 and I hope this post reaches to everyone who are currently working in HSBC and to the people who are planning on joining HSBC GSC HYD before I leave. The Curse of Corporate

I joined Synkrama Technologies Private Limited with enthusiasm, inspired by a positive and supportive environment. Initially, the atmosphere seemed promising, and I was motivated to contribute to the team. However, as time went on, I faced numerous challenges that profoundly impacted my professional and personal well-being. Early in my tenure, I was appointed as a Team Lead on several projects. This role, though a significant opportunity, came with immense pressure from our CEO, KJ. The expectation was to meet deadlines at any cost, which led to continuous mental stress. Under his directives, I inadvertently became a source of pressure for my colleagues , AN , and AB and other major colleagues . This created a strained and uncomfortable working environment for all of us as i used to put pressure on them on the influence of Karan Jain The situation worsened as I found myself working through weekends and even during leaves, resulting in severe mental exhaustion. Despite these efforts, new developers were hired, and I was sidelined. This period was particularly tough, leading to depression and sleepless nights. After enduring this for several months, I decided to resign from my position. Unexpectedly, KJ contacted me, urging me to withdraw my resignation. He assured me that the previous issues would be resolved and praised my contributions. Reluctantly, I decided to stay, hoping for a positive change. However, the company's environment continued to pose challenges. We were subjected to screen monitoring via Team Logger, where management frequently questioned my idle time. Despite my high productivity and efficiency, I was often scrutinized for taking breaks or assisting colleagues, which is essential for maintaining a collaborative workspace. Most recently, a significant and distressing event occurred, further affirming my decision to share my experience publicly. it’s crucial to address and bring awareness to the toxic practices that can affect employees’ mental health and overall well-being. I hope my story encourages organizations to foster genuinely supportive environments and prioritize the mental health of their employees. source: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/rutvik-borad-12409b19b_theabrcurseabrofabrcoprorate-activity-7199762667471839233-3wyR

Getting overshadowed in tech team

I work in a small startup, we have 10 people in Frontend Team. 2 SDE-2, rest all SDE-1. I joined as Sde-1, when I joined them, we were 4(2 SDE-2 and 2 SDE-1). At the time of joining, they had a messy codebase, nobody cared about writing good, optimized code etc. Whenever I got chance to work on old feature, I used to re-write entire code from scratch, made reusable functions, components and moved common functionalities there, all these made the UI better, platform stable. Worked on optimization and performance. These folks never cared about all these things. Also started peer reviewing everyone's PRs, explained them various design patterns and made them write re-usable components, optimized, bug-free code and other things. Now I came to know, all these efforts of my mine never reached my manager to due manipulation by one of the SDE-2. My manager likes this guy and allowed him to handle the FE team. This guy has shown that he's the one who took all these initiative and he got all these things done by the team. He involved the other SDE-2 in this game. Fast forward 1 year, I see most of my code has been slightly modified by him, moved to new file and my actual file is deleted. He has done this in order to remove my GitHub history. I'm now getting frustrated and don't know how to handle this. Resigning is not an option and raising with manager won't help as he's slightly biased and won't believe me. Any help would be appreciated. TIA
