Burnout at work
What's the worst burnout you've experienced? I worked 100-hour weeks for a month and ended up in the hospital. How has overwork impacted your health or life?
I did a 9 hour shift once from 6pm to 3am. The person (an indian guy) who was supposed to take the 3am shift in US didn't respond. He then calls me and without any explanation says I should cover his shift as well.
So i continued from 3am to 12pm next day. Went home at 12:30pm had some food. Slept for 2 hours and then I got ready for mt 6pm shift that day.
Since it was very early in my career I had a hard time saying No to people. So this guy kept taking advantage of it. My blood sugar got too low once because of this burnout and went to the verge of fainting.
No amount of work and money is worth loosing your self respect and mental health.
Please try to limit it immediately. I fear that this might have bad long term effects. They don’t show up when you’re young
