
Take 50% pay cut for good work
I work in an Australia retailer based out of Bangalore as head of ai vp position with very good wlb but not interesting ml Ai work . I got direct offer from blinkit for head of ai with very good ml work in optimisation and llm . I have to take 50% pay cut . I have. 19 years experience , so should I do good work sacrificing money and wlb my current tc 1.5 cr

Nahi sir q kar rahe ho, ye sab companies ka bharosa nahi hai kal ko aapko layoff kardi toh?
Interesting karna hai toh aap as a consultant kaam karlo side me Kai companies ki help Karo choti hai jo.
75 lakh 1.5cr se mujhe sense nahi lagta. Aap career me peeche q ja rahe ho?

What should I do

Sir waise toh meri itni aukat nahi hai abhi aapko batane ke liye, but mai aapke jagah rahunga kabhi toh mai nahi jaunga half salary me. Qki 75 lakh se 1.5cr aane me jitne saal Lage aapko usko aap reverse kar rahe ho.
Baki aapki choice agar aapke pass paiso ki Kami nahi haina toh ja sakte ho but mai na jata, mai yahi keh sakta hu

I would recommend if you have a good WLB then learn these skills on your own instead of going for this financially unviable option. Because at the end of the day the pressure to deliver (esp at a startup) will take away all the fun of learning and working on new tech that seems exciting to you right now.

I don’t know I feel my friends in unicorn startup have data at scale so they can use ml Ai but we cannot. So if I learn on my own and implement how can I tell that in my next job I would be left behind as I don’t have brand and quality project

If you arr concerned with Data you can find a lot open datasets at large scale that are equally good

not sure why blinkt is paying very less to VP level In Zomato they pay really good salaries, they pay close to 70 L for people having 5 yrs

get paranoid as my friends in grab , Uber , flipkart are doing ml work with llm , computer vision but I am not I am only getting money not excitement

Keep searching for better work opportunities. 50 percent pay cut is kental

Is money more important than work

Sir negotiate for 1.2 cr, huge cut will take a mental toll. Maybe negotiate some time based esops for long term association
