So the thing I wanted to share for so long with you all is , today many people around the world are suffering from diabetes, blood pressure, asthma or all the diseases which are becoming more and more common in the country like India with may be not so good lifestyle, unhealthy eating habits , stress and a lot of other factors, the medical industry is booming at a very rapid rate with advancement in technology and artificial intelligence (very good) but even after hearing that scientists are doing this , running this experiment bla bla , still there is no cure , Why?

Is it because they are still trying or government of all the countries actually don't want a cure to come because if there will be a cure , there will be no patients and the business of all the doctors and specialists will come to an end in most cases . That's why they always say , you can manage these symptoms with medications/avoidance but can't cure it . 

Cars are getting devlop to fly , space scientists are searching for life at other planets 

We made so much progress , everybody says it that today you have every possible thing available at your fingertips , but not a cure to diseases which is so common nowadays

I really want to know your take on this , please give your opinion !!!

Life is hard, and plans don't always turn out the way they should. 
But when we look back over our lives, we realize that some decisions really changed the course of our lives for the better.

What decision in life worked out well for you?

Personally, I sucked at IITJEE and my rank was 112,700. I am ashamed to talk about this to anyone normally but here I can share it.

What was your IITJEE rank?

I am 24F, went to Vipassana to get clarity on various aspects of life. Physically and mentally I am absolutely healthy. Assuming that the ones who are reading this are aware of what Vipassana is. 

My learning- 
1. It’s never Path A vs Path B and either if it is correct. It’s always Path A with High risk High Reward and Path B with Less risk and Less reward. 
2. The technique strengthens you to choose the Higher risk path
3. You are not required to speak always. I am more self aware and avoid speaking where it’s waste of energy. This creates less chaos in mind. 


What Changed -
1. You do get a lot clarity in your thoughts 
2. Increased focus. I do advanced asana of Yoga which requires concentration to balance. I am able to hold them longer now. 
3. My food and sleep schedule has changed entirely- I sleep between 10pm - 6am. My last meal is completed before 7pm
4. I am doing things mindfully - speaking, eating, scrolling, sleeping. I tell my myself/my mind when to stop and start. Earlier i would scroll mindlessly or sleep when my body gave up etc. 

I did feel lonely, cried sometimes felt like running out. I even talked to the Guruji about letting me go. I had seen a lot of videos before going which mentioned that you will have all these feeling, but just don’t quit. 

 Didn’t talk about technique or 10 day schedule since that is v much available over internet. If anyone in the Grapevine community is interested to know more, I am happy writing more about it. Overall please do visit the camp whenever you get a chance, actually as early as possible.

Was having morning chai and realized I should write this somewhere. Not sure if there’s anything to learn here. Just one guy’s story 

Years 0 to 5: Small town child

Was born in Bhubaneshwar, father had a government job. Very average middle class life. Middle class values. 
Parents always wanted me to study hard so I did. Used to be most excited about playing cricket and football very day 

Years 5 to 15: The studious class kid 

We shifted to Jaipur - dad had a transferable job. Took time adjusting to a new school but eventually made some friends. Realised I do not have any music/sports/artistic talent, but I can work hard. So I started working hard on my studies and started being top 10% of my class every year. Maths came easy to me.  I am not in touch with any of my friends from this period but they have all gone on to do good things as I see from their LinkedIn profiles

Years 15 to 22: IIT years  

Worked super freakin hard - gave the JEE and made it to one of the top 7 IITs in the Mech department, soon realised I do not love Mech and there weren’t any jobs as well. Started learning to code and made a few projects. Did an internship at Microsoft and another at a startup from a college alum. Ended up realising becoming an engineer is not my cup of tea long term. Took a hard turn to working on non engineering skills and jobs.   Most importantly made so many friends, had so much fun. These are still some of my best friends and we still meet each other and stay at each other’s houses. 
Picked up a deep obsession with E-Sports (Counter Strike mostly)

Years 22 to 24: First job 

Joined one of the top 10 consulting companies at a good salary. Moved to Mumbai - started wearing suits and living a great life from hotel to hotel. The job was good, but not engaging enough. Decided I should quit. But was scared to do it for 8 months. Started studying for my CAT 

Years 25 to 28: MBA and marriage
 
CAT went sweet. Joined a top MBA school - the most formative years of my life to be honest. Almost close to my last 2 years at college. Met my wife there to whom I got later married at 28. I still keep in touch with a few people from MBA but not as many as I do from college. 

Years 28 to 32: Making it onto Tech

My campus placement happened as a Product Manager at famous tech company in Bangalore where I have been for the last 4 years now. Got a couple promotions. I love my work and its impact. I still sometimes get to play my Counter Strike. 

As I look back on all of life, I guess the most important things I have learnt are to just stay happy and do something useful EVERY DAY. Be diligent, work hard and you’ll get where you want to. Do not stress over it. Just stay in the game. Don’t tire out.

Story of my life: Age 0 to Age 32

I woke up with a notification that started with “Hope you had a great weekend. Unfortunately…”

I didn’t have the courage to open the entire mail. I knew what it was. 

A little context here, i have been unemployed for the last 5 months. I got laid off from my first job with not even an year of work experience. We all know how bad the market condition is, and how harsh it is for freshers. Me being the optimistic person that i am, ignored all these setbacks and began my hunt for my next dream job. With the help of my friends, I started preparing for interviews. I was lucky enough to get shortlisted for few good companies. But somehow or the other things always went south and i ended up without an offer. I made sure to not get disheartened and keep trying my best with a positive attitude. And then i interviewed with this one company, that perfectly aligned with me. All my interviews went well and made it till the final round. Now it was a call from the leadership. I strongly believed that this is my shot. After months of feeling stuck, I thought this is going to be my moment of relief. Even though this journey was hard i made sure to enjoy every bit of it. 

But now here i am with another rejection mail. I am now questioning my entire belief system. And not sure what to do next.

Any advice/suggestions are welcome :)

How hurt are you today?

This question is to people who are in their late 20s or older.


Life shows its ups and downs to pretty much everyone. And when you are younger, living with adverse situations that impact your mental peace and health, paving your way becomes difficult. All this can lead to uncertainty about future, can make you doubt yourself and your decisions, or can make you think whether you would be able to make something of yourself or not.


If you ever felt like this, how did you handle it? What would you tell your younger self about how to navigate through these situations and feelings?

How did you figure things out?

Little background about myself. I am M in my early 30s, married with no kids yet. Professionally, I run a bootstrapped profitable business for 6+ years now.

Since last 2-3 years I started having constant anxiety of health, work & family. I couldn't sleep nights constantly fearing the unknown & losing everything. With an increase in personal wealth, my mental health took a toll coz there is a constant internal & external pressure to maintain it & grow (still not recovered yet). Though I have no personal life problems, dad has a history of depression & takes medication for years. I didn't feel depressed hence avoided the medication but a friend suggested taking therapy, so here I am :)

It's been 6-7 sessions & the situation has not improved but I understood a lot about the coping mechanism & perspective. It just changed my perspective towards work, stress, family & more. Even personal habits coz sleep was one of the big issues I brought up with the counsellor.

10/10 recommend going for therapy. 

[Also, have not mentioned all my issues here as I wanted to keep it short. Dm if you are struggling & need someone to talk to]

I have been a little caught up with numerous things in my life lately and have finally found some free time to open up myself to new experiences. 

I had a wishlist of shows and movies that I wanted to watch but as soon as I start watching them, I get bored and feel like turning it off. 

No, its not the content
No, its not the genre
No, its not the actors
No, its not the taste either

This is pretty ironic as considering the fact that I have spent a fair share of my youth chasing academics and career, my heart had always craved for life experiences. I had to let go of the woman I loved simply because I was too focussed on my JEE. I wont be able to forgive myself for that EVER. It almost felt like I had lost a limb, without which , I would be rendered disfunctional. Thats a separate story tho.

Nothing excites me (yep nothing)
Nothing amuses me 
Nothing feels lively

I have no clue where my life is headed

I understand that as we age, our triggers of happiness change. I have put concious efforts into knowing what those new triggers are. But I cant find any plausible sources of happiness.

I am performing pretty well with my career.
Even got a double digit hike.
But didnt feel that kick of joy.

Have I approached a dead end?

I was suffering from 2-3 mild health issues in metro. (prolonged cold n cough, regular sneezing etc)

Came home 🏡 in diwali and now extended wfh due to health gain. Living with parents and consuming clean air + food is helping improve my sleep quality as well ❤️‍🩹 (2h+ deep sleep) 8h continuous sleep.

I did cost benifit analysis and have decided to work on a plan which will eventually help me settle down at my birthplace within 2-5y. 

synopsis --

Children's play under sun 🌞 and have group of 10 kids. They ain't worried about anything. Their happiness index > ceos.  
  
They don't know about masturbation till 10th or age 14 if they don't have a smartphone.   
  
My workplace is open and aqi is below 10. Strong peepal and banyan trees 🌴 even 100y old. When I feel stressed due to any reason I just go to see sunset near my place hardly 2km away. It's a stress buster with earbuds in and watching migrant birds crossing river.  
  
Ain't those birds more free and independent than us? Like they don't give a damn 🕊️ about future and enjoy the present.  
  
Very less car and almost 0 traffic ⛔. People still use bicycles and cycle repair shop>garages.   
  
Life is slow and peaceful. People go to sleep at 9-10pm and wake up at 5-6am.  
  
Life is too easy. Cost of a family with 2acre land is hardly 25k/m here.  
  
Sometimes I wonder why chase 2 lac/month sacrificing so much in a so called developed city.  
  
Society is ambivert. Pizza 🍕 🍔 burger biryani is trying to enter these areas.  
  
But I don't miss swiggy.  
  
Zeptonis redundant here.  
  
My 💳 credit card is lying there thinking why am not swiping it...

I like coming here through the notifications once in a while and I thought that since we all are anonymous, I would share something that I've been going through for a while now.

I have a strong fear of not getting a job/not earning money and being dependent on my father financially. It might sound stupid but for me it's such a deep fear that I can't concentrate on my work without feeling like bawling my eyes out. I am 22 and pursuing a second masters. I see people around me having jobs and being independent and I can't help but feel like a failure. I never really had anyone to guide me so I didn't make the best academic choices. I just wanted to hear your guys thoughts about how I can overcome this fear and if any of you had similar fears.
I won't expect a lot of replies but it would feel better to have someone reassure me. Thanks!

A month ago I used to do good exercise daily eating properly or aaj haal ye he ki jo bhi mile khaane khaa leta hu, poora din bed pe mareez ki trhe pade raho poora din tired rheta hu har roz or neend ki maa bhen ho rakhi he sirf dreams hi dreams chalte he. Kuch bhi krne ka man nhi 0 motivation. Salary theek he kaam bhi ho hi jaata he jese tese mere se koi baat krta he to zuban ladkalati he esa nhi he me chutiya hu jee main de kr ek nit ki cse branch se b.tech kri he non reserved category se. Bc samjh nhi aa rha isse kese bhar niklu 2 saal hone jaa rhe he try and fail lga hua he Mera ... Ab try krne ka bhi nhi krta. Kabhi nhi socha tha esa haal ho jayega. 
Motivation k naam pe mujhe mera bada bhai sb kuch lgta he, na me rota hu na hassta hu na logo se friendly trhe se baat kr pata hu, Mera humour bhi accha tha bina kisi ka dil dukhaye bhot logo ko hassaya he mene to ab sb se ese baat krunga to majak smjhenge ek do se try kiya tha bolne ka bc ignore kr diya, 24 ka hu ese haar maan k betha hu na jaane kyo.

How do one can cope from their lowest point in life?

I think I'm losing my mind. I'm a 32-year-old guy in tech, graduated from IIIT Delhi, earning 78L annually, but I feel like I'm fooling everyone, including myself. It's as if I'm constantly waiting for someone to burst into the office and shout, "Hey, fraud! We've finally figured out you're actually useless!"

I know it sounds like I'm humble-bragging, but trust me, I'm not. This feeling is eating me alive.

Seven years ago, I started as a regular software engineer. Somehow, I kept getting promoted. Now I'm leading a team of 15 people, handling critical projects, and sitting in meetings with the higher-ups. But every time I'm in those meetings, I feel like a kid wearing his dad's oversized suit, pretending to be an adult.

I work my ass off - late nights, weekends, you name it. But I always feel like I'm barely keeping my head above water. When my team comes to me with problems, I'm secretly panicking, thinking, "Why are you asking me? I'm as clueless as you!"

The worst part? Everyone around me seems to think I'm some kind of wunderkind. My boss is always praising me in front of others. My team looks up to me. Even my parents are bragging about me to all our relatives. But inside, I'm constantly terrified that I'll make one tiny mistake and everyone will realize I'm a fraud.

I see my college batchmates on LinkedIn, and they all seem so confident and successful. Meanwhile, I'm here, earning more than I ever thought I would, but feeling like I don't deserve any of it.

I can't even enjoy my success. I bought a nice house last year, but instead of feeling proud, I keep thinking, "What if they fire me tomorrow? How will I pay for this?" It's like I'm waiting for everything to come crashing down.

I know it's ridiculous to complain about a high-paying job when so many people are struggling. But this constant fear of being "found out" is driving me insane. I can't even talk to my friends about it because they'll probably think I'm just showing off.

Has anyone else felt like this? How do you deal with feeling like a fraud when everyone thinks you're successful? Is this just part of adult life that no one talks about?
