How down was your portfolio in terms of your salary today?

I wanted to share my Net Worth as per INDmoney, and understand how I compare with the others here. The goal is to reset my goal after looking at people doing better than me, and provide some guidance to people that might be aiming to reach their own goal. If you resign today without any job or any plan, how many months/years would be able to survive at the current burn rate (monthly expenses) ?

Do share the portfolio size as well. I’ll go first- Take home per month- 1.75L (changed to 2.1 right now, but I’ll talk about previous one) SIP- 70k Stocks- ~30k if you average on a quarterly basis (smallcase) Percentage- 57% Portfolio- 33.5L Curious to see how others invest. With so many companies at all time high, how are you looking for good undervalued stocks picks. Looking for good fundamental stocks with investment horizon for 1-2 years. Any app or investment house which shares good picks ?

I see people here showing of their networth more than often. The stocks they have, the salary they draw and with their very little experience and young age. Please let’s not make it another bragging platform. Let’s get real. I’m putting out my story. I got laid off, got a job after 2 months. Quit the job within a month as it needed me to relocate immediately (which was earlier supposed to happen after 3 months) plus I figured they had a very toxic culture (which I could figure before joining, but beggars can’t be choosers) I have 2 months of runway with my savings I’m married. Wife is also on a break currently. Current networth? (-)16 lacs. Have loans worth 25 lacs which will be over in next 5 years. I have been a generalist all my life, and I figured post all this layoffs that no matter what you do, how much you put in, at the end you’ll just be a Number for the company and at times of difficulty they’ll lay you off. What am I thinking next? To find freelancing and consulting services along with a job which will just be required to pay my fixed monthly expenses and have my peace of mind and on the side build things what I really love and enjoy. Will experiment the one or two ideas I have, if there are good responses and feedback and I sense a demand, will scale it up else move on to the next one. I don’t want to retire ever, I want to keep working till my last breath, but a work I love doing, a work that will always let me have my peace of mind. I don’t want to make a billion dollar company, but something that gives meaning to things I am passionate about and people can connect themselves with. I’ll go first. 1. What kind of investor are you? I am an opportunity investor, and I do buy good stocks whenever they are in reasonable valuations. Below are my monthly numbers. 2. Where’s the majority of your investment portfolio ? I have three RE investments and one of them has loan. And I’m planning to buy a property in Goa or HP. 3. What’s your monthly investment breakdown? 1.7L/ Month (approx) 60k - SIP (mutual funds) 60k - stocks (smallcase, us stocks using vested) 30k - as opportunity fund, this is transferred to a different bank account 10-20k - for experimental investments in crypto, nfts, and some trading. This is a new segment and I don’t have much experience in this and that’s why starting small here. 4. Anything else you want to share? I am learning to invest on a daily basis. Reading, videos and podcasts are my sources. Some of my tops picks are Whiteboard finance (Marko), My first Million and Smart Passive Income, finance with Saran, and Akshat Shrivastava.
